How to fix Canon Support Code 6A80 6A81 6000 1313 with knocking sound

Today we're going to troubleshoot a printer that has a 6A80 or 6A81 error code. I got this printer that has a knocking sound at startup. We're going to get a piece of paper to jam the door sensor, so the printer will think that the scanner is closed, so we can look at what's inside.

Inside we'll find that two printer parts knocking on each other. Sometimes we get error 6000, sometimes we'll get a 6A80, and 6A81. Scan the QR code will bring you to a generic website. There's no help at all. We try to push the path down a little bit and restart. Then we got 1313. If you do another QR code, it's just another generic website it will help you.

Upon further examination, we find this part is lying on the bottom. I used a working printer that shows you how it works. There's a little thing, and they push the screen. To have better access to the printer, we remove this screw to lift the scanner unit. This small triangle is the one that's going to push the spring. The installation is pretty simple, and there's an opening on the side of the white thing. You can push it in horizontally.

Let's see if this works. There's error 6000 again. Therefore it wasn't the cause of the problem. It's the result of the problem. For the next step, we need to take the side panel off. Remove one screw from the top, turn the printer to its back and remove the two screws on the back. There are three tabs on the side panel, the top one. The bottom one is loose for this one. They can be released just by lifting them. The third one, the middle one, is sideway. Now you can work on the middle one.

Again there's another view of the three tabs: the bottom one, the middle one, and the top one. Let's take a look at a working one. In the working one, you can see the white box is pushed to the left by this spring, which is loaded. That spring is causing the white box to the left. For this one, it doesn't work. You can see that spring is not loaded. If it's not loaded, the lever is just laid along the side of the box. If you look from top-down, you're going to see the lever, and the black lever is vertical. Let me show you what the lever should look like. It should look sideways. This is spring-loaded, and it's a good position.

You can see the lever is that way. To fix this, you're going to see two sets of letters. One is outside, and one is inside. This one is the outside one. There's the inside one underneath inside there. Let me phrase this. You can say right in the middle of the circle's center, and you can see three lines. That's the letter underneath. I'm going to use a curved tweezer, go deep down and hold down that ladder and push it upwards. It doesn't have a spring. It doesn't bounce back, so you can keep moving. Sorry I got a big hand. After this, I'm going to shoot again, so you can see at a better angle.

Pay attention to the lever. The spring is not loaded right now. The printer is going to move once more. You're going to see the spring is loaded. See? It's loaded. Here's another angle that I push that ladder up. There's no spring, so you can push it up, make it up and release, push it up, and you're going to hear a click. Again this is not loaded, but for the next time, the spring will be loaded. There you go, the problems were fixed. It is just warning you that this method only applies to when your white box is not knocked out of the printer. You can see this one. The white box is totally off the rail.
