Integrated Cartridge

These cartridges are integrated , which means the cartridges and the printheads are built into the same unit.  Each cartridge has a little sponge inside it. Your goal is to get the sponge wet (not soaked). After the refill, the printer won’t recognize the new ink level.  However, the printer will keep printing and will only give you low ink warnings. If you ignore the warnings by clicking “Yes,” the printer will keep printing. The printer will show the last warning when the printer thinks the ink is depleted, normally  Error 1688/1686. Hold down the stop button on the printer for five seconds so that the printer will turn off ink tracking and let you print forever. The ink monitor will be grayed out afterward. This is also called the “gray chip” model.
