These cartridges do not have printheads.  Each cartridge has a computer chip. The chip counts how many pages have been printed.  You can reset the chip with a resetter so that the printer will think you have a new cartridge.  Also, you can use a 3rd party “ARC” chip, which rolls back to zero after reaching a maximum value.  

Not all chips can be reset.  If you don't see a model listed here, we either do not have a solution or do not support a solution due to cost or legality.
