HP Envy ERROR CODE 0X00829C98 HW_WATCHDOG C - Don't Get Scammed!

Today we’ll be taking a quick look at the HP printer error code 0X00829C98 HW_WATCHDOG_C. If you’re attempting to use your printer and this error code pops up, don’t touch anything. We won’t be looking at how to fix it today as much as the problem that’s causing the error code.

When you get an HP error code, and you Google the solution, there is a very high chance that the links it brings up will be spam or scam links. Most YouTube videos on the subject are just as bad. They’ll give you a bunch of technical-sounding words, but everything they say is pretty much just nonsense to get you to click on their site. Most of the time, they’ll say one of two things. Their proposed solution will either be to power it off and back on again (which won’t work) or to call a phone number.

When you call this number, they will tell you that the problem is with your computer’s registry and proceed to have you give them the information they need to upload their scamware and viruses onto your computer. They will also make it seem like they intend to give you some money back or reimburse you.

They will have you give them banking information so that they can deposit “money” into your account. They will intentionally make it look like they accidentally sent too much and need you to send some of it back. They won’t have you use actual money for this, though. They’ll have you go to Amazon's online store and pay them back by buying gift cards and sending them the redemption codes. But of course, they never sent you money at all, so they're just taking money from you based on your desire to be honest and refund them for the extra "money" they sent.

Looking up answers for this error code online is not likely to provide useful results, so I’ll help you with what I can. Chances are, this error code is caused by the scanner, a burned-out motor, or a burned-out lamp. The most likely cause, and the easiest to fix, is that the scanner cannot move.

For an explanation of how to fix this as well as demonstrations, you can watch this video from my YouTube channel. I also have a lot of other videos to help you with additional problems relating to printers and similar items.

I also have my own store called BCHtechnologies.com. It’s not BCHtechnology, so don’t type in bchtechnology.com because it might bring up a spam site. I sell many useful printer-related products and hardware tools that you may find helpful, so go check it out.

I hope you found this part helpful and that you avoid scammers due to this information. Cheers!
