Sublimation will be good for a white or light background. Sublimation printing is a printing technique that uses heat and pressure to transfer dye onto materials. It can be used on a variety of materials, including:
-
Polyester: Sublimation printing works best on polyester or polyester-coated surfaces, as the dye will bond with the polyester fibers. This includes items such as polyester t-shirts, bags, and flags.
-
Ceramic: Sublimation printing can be used on ceramic items, such as mugs, plates, and tiles. The heat and pressure will transfer the dye onto the ceramic surface, resulting in a permanent image (pre-treatment may be required, consult the seller before using).
-
Metal: Aluminum and other metals with a polymer coating can be used for sublimation printing. This includes items such as metal water bottles, license plates, and signs.
-
Glass: Sublimation printing can be used on glass items such as photo frames, ornaments, and coasters. The dye will bond with the glass surface, resulting in a permanent image (pre-treatment or coating may be required, consult the seller before using).
-
Wood: Sublimation printing can be used on certain types of wood, such as plywood or MDF board. The heat and pressure will transfer the dye onto the wood surface, resulting in a permanent image (pre-treatment or coating may be required, consult the seller before using).
It's important to note that sublimation printing will not work on natural fibers such as cotton or silk, as the dye will not bond with these materials. There are pre-treatment available for these materials. To be sure, always ask the seller if their material can be used for sublimation.
