Troubleshooting Printhead and Mainboard Issues in L1800 Printers

I have a question about my L1800-based DTF printer, which I purchased from Neixo in early 2023, I have attached a nozzle check which I performed after cleaning the printhead and the capping station. Unfortunately, the results haven't improved. Could this indicate a printhead issue, or should I consider sending it to your team for repair?

From your description, it sounds like the printhead isn't clogged but rather that the firing signal is erratic. This irregularity could be due to a faulty driver chip on the mainboard or a more severe issue like a fried CPU on the mainboard. In this case, replacing the mainboard would be necessary.

Thank you for your guidance, Interestingly, now when I tried to power on my L1800, it wouldn't turn on using the front control panel, although the main power switch at the back was functional. It was working fine last night. Do you think I should send the mainboard to you for diagnosis under your fastrack L1800 service? Should I also send the PSU?

First, check the FFC cable for any signs of burning or damage. If you're uncertain, it would be prudent to replace it. Given your description, it's highly likely that the printhead has been compromised.
While there is a 90% chance that the Power Supply Unit (PSU, the page also shows you how to test it) is still operational, it’s crucial to address the mainboard issue. If you can secure a functioning mainboard, along with either new FFC cables or a verified old one, and a new printhead, your printer might be salvageable.
However, if it turns out that your mainboard's CPU is indeed burnt, you will likely need a new mainboard.
