Question: My printer’s capping station platform doesn't return to its original position as shown in the video at 1:30 here: link. The gears seem fine, but do you have any other solutions for this problem?
Answer:
If the capping station platform on your printer is not returning to its position when it should, but the gears are looking good, then the problem might be with the gear engagement itself. You said the gears appear fine but can sometimes be a little bit out of kilter or not fully seated. More often than not, you’ll locate a little switch on top of the rail which controls the platform’s return motion. Normally the platform is driven by the gear and the gear must mesh with the mechanism-- if the gear is not meshing then it isn't going to pull the platform back into place.
Note that you may be able to rotate the gear backward at a slight angle to get the gear properly in the rest of the mechanism. This should help in on-boarding the platform to the right spot. It’s a pretty easy fix, and if that doesn’t work you should check for any other mechanical obstruction or gear drive malfunction.
Printer problems can be a bit tricky as they tend to be hardware-related issues. So we cannot offer remote troubleshooting, recommendations or support for printer repairs. A local, on-site diagnosis and repair service is available through our BCH Technologies Printer Repair Service [https://bchtechnologies.com/printer-repair-service]. We operate on a first-come, first-served basis, so expect a potentially long drop-off wait of a few weeks due to the current influx of demand. Our solution is designed to mend the whole printer or specific aspects in detail. That being said, we understand our rates may not be the cheapest. So we suggest you strongly to do self help through research online. We recommend you to visit our YouTube channel homepage (BCH Technologies YouTube [https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies]) and use the search option to filter videos with the point on your issue. I get dozens of requests for videos about specific topics every day and even after making over nine years’ worth of videos, it can be challenging to remember every video that has been made. So, the best way to search for guides is by making use of the search bar on Youtube. YouTube might suggest videos from other creators, too, that can help with your issue.
