I have an Epson EcoTank ET-15000 that keeps showing a paper jam error, specifically error 034004, even though I cannot find any paper stuck inside. I followed the troubleshooting steps from the fake paper jam video and even used canned air to check for hidden paper scraps. I tried printing from all paper feeders, but none of them will feed paper. I can hear the printer trying to feed the paper, and then it reports a paper jam. What else can I check?

For an Epson EcoTank ET-15000 showing error 034004, especially when the printer says there is a paper jam but no paper is visibly stuck, the problem is often not a traditional paper jam. Instead, the printer may be detecting a paper feed failure, timing issue, or sensor reading problem. In other words, the printer is expecting the paper to move through the paper path at a certain time, and when it does not see the correct movement, it reports the condition as a jam.
Since you already checked for paper scraps, tried all feeders, and used canned air, the next areas I would check are the PF sensor cable, the PF sensor, and the PF scale, which is the clear encoder disc in the paper feed system.
The PF sensor cable is important because it carries the signal from the paper feed sensor area back to the printer's logic board. If this cable is loose, damaged, improperly seated, contaminated with ink, or slightly pulled out of position, the printer may not correctly detect paper feed movement. Even if the motor is trying to feed the paper, the printer may think the feed system is not moving correctly and trigger 034004. I would inspect both ends of the cable carefully. Make sure the cable is fully seated, straight, and not torn or creased. If ink has leaked into that area, clean the cable contacts gently and let everything dry fully before reconnecting.
The PF sensor itself should also be checked. This sensor monitors part of the paper feed movement. If it is dirty, blocked, damaged, or misaligned, the printer may falsely detect a paper jam. Sometimes paper dust, dried ink mist, or debris can interfere with the sensor's reading. Canned air may help in some cases, but it does not always remove sticky ink residue or small debris caught around the sensor. If accessible, inspect the sensor area with a flashlight. Look for anything blocking the optical path or preventing the sensor from reading movement.
The third major item is the PF scale, also called the PF encoder disc. This is usually a clear plastic disc with very fine markings on it. The printer reads this disc to know how the paper feed mechanism is moving. If the disc is dirty, scratched, covered with ink mist, cracked, shifted out of place, or has fallen off, the printer can lose track of the paper feed position. When that happens, the printer may try to feed paper, fail to confirm proper movement, and then report a paper jam or error 034004.
Please check carefully to make sure the clear PF disc has not fallen off. If the disc is loose or missing, the printer will not be able to read the paper feed position correctly. If the disc is still installed but dirty, it may need to be cleaned very carefully. Use caution because the markings on the disc are delicate. Avoid harsh rubbing, strong solvents, or anything that may scratch or erase the encoder markings. A damaged PF scale can cause repeated feed errors even when the rest of the printer appears mechanically fine.
Because your printer will not feed from any feeder, this points more toward a shared paper feed detection or drive issue rather than a problem with only one tray. If only the rear feeder failed, I would suspect the rear feed pickup assembly. If only the cassette failed, I would focus on the cassette pickup rollers or separation pad. But when all feeding sources fail and the printer gives the same fake jam behavior, the issue is more likely related to the paper feed sensor system, PF encoder disc, PF motor feedback, or the main paper feed drive mechanism.
Also inspect the pickup rollers and paper path for anything that prevents the rollers from grabbing paper. If the rollers are glazed, dirty, or worn, the printer may try to feed but fail to pull the paper in. However, with 034004, especially after trying all feeders, I would prioritize the PF sensor system first. Still, cleaning the pickup rollers with a proper rubber roller cleaner or a lightly dampened lint-free cloth can help rule out a simple traction problem.
Another thing to check is whether the paper feed rollers are actually turning when the printer attempts to feed. If you hear the printer trying but the rollers do not rotate, the issue may be mechanical, such as a disconnected gear, broken gear tooth, jammed feed assembly, or a motor drive problem. If the rollers turn but the paper does not move, then the pickup rollers, paper loading position, or separation mechanism may be the issue. If the rollers turn and the paper starts moving but the printer immediately errors out, then the PF sensor or PF scale becomes even more suspicious.
For the Epson ET-15000, a "fake paper jam" can also happen if the printer's internal timing is off. The printer expects the paper to reach certain points at certain times. If the encoder disc is not being read properly, the printer does not know whether the feed shaft is moving correctly. That can make the printer stop and report a jam even though the real failure is an encoder or sensor issue.
So, in order, I would check:

The PF sensor cable - make sure it is fully connected, not damaged, and not contaminated.

The PF sensor - inspect for blockage, ink residue, dust, or misalignment.

The PF scale / clear encoder disc - make sure it is present, clean, seated correctly, and has not fallen off.

Any hidden debris under the platen, near the feed rollers, and around the duplex/paper path area.
If the clear PF disc has fallen off or is no longer aligned properly, that would be a very strong candidate for the cause of 034004. The printer may sound like it is trying to feed, but because it cannot confirm proper movement through the PF encoder system, it stops and reports a jam.
