Question:
I had been experiencing the “Epson death code” on my ET-8850 recently. After I watched your videos, I noticed that one of the FFC cables on the printhead has burn marks. Should I diagnose it, then order a new printhead? And do you have printheads for this model?
Answer:
If the FFC cable on the Epson ET-8850 is burnt, then there is no room to say (i.e. the printhead itself) is still functional. In such situations, the same cable damage usually shows that the printhead has been destroyed as well. You also have the slight potential that the mainboard is still functional but this requires further investigation. We don’t sell new ET-8550 printheads on our site, but our repair shop can help find a replacement for you.
For mainboard issues, we offer a repair service that can help troubleshoot and potentially restore functionality to your mainboard. You can find more details about our mainboard repair service here: Mainboard Repair Service [https://bchtechnologies.com/collections/printer-repair-service/products/fast-track-mainboard-repair-l1800-xp-15000-et-15000-wf-7610-7620-wf-7110-wf-7710-7720-et-8550-et-2720-et-2750printer-mainboard-formatter-board-motherboard-troubleshooting-and-repair].
Addressing printer issues can be complex due to the hands-on nature of the problems.
