Question:
So, I installed a new set of OEM Epson 252XL ink cartridges (Black, Cyan, Yellow, Magenta) & a new print head for my WF-7620 printer. But despite these updates, my printer isn't Printing all colors fully. The black prints are OK, but the cyan and magenta are spotty, and the yellow is almost blank. I've executed numerous printhead cleaning cycles (15 times!), but the problem persists. I exhausted cyan, yellow, and magenta, trying to correct it. Do you suggest any corrections to this?

Diagnosing the Problem
It sounds like you've already taken several necessary steps — replacing the print head, putting in fresh OEM ink cartridges, possibly updating the firmware, and running many cleaning cycles. However, the continuing problem with no yellow print, as well as spotty cyan and magenta, means that there is at least one, but presumably more, underlying issue. Some possible explanations are:
Air in the Ink Lines or Dampers: Replacing the print head or ink cartridges can trap air bubbles in the ink lines or dampers, leading to uneven ink flow. If there are no yellow prints and the other colors are spotty, it could be the cause.
Dirty Printer Head Nozzles: Even if you have a brand new print head, debris from manufacturing or residual ink in the old cartridges may occasionally clog a printer head nozzle, leading to uneven ink distribution.
Potential cause: Various problems with the ink delivery system can prevent adequate ink from being delivered to the printhead nozzles, including a blockage in the capping station, the wiper blade, and/or within the ink supply lines.
Weak Print on Page (New Ink Cartridge or Ink Flow): In some cases, even a new cartridge can be harmful. This means the cartridge has a problem, and the yellow ink is not pumping out.
Actions to Take to Fix the Problem
Check the Capping Station:
- The capping station seals the print head when not in use and keeps the ink primed during cleaning. If it's damaged or doesn't seal properly, it can cause your ink to flow improperly or cleaning cycles to be ineffective. Please make sure the printhead is on the capping station when parked.
Prime the Print Head:
- If the issue continues, manually prime the printhead to cleanse air from the ink lines. I'm talking about turning a syringe on its end and connecting a tube to the waste line attached to the capping station. With a pull, aspirate 1.5 ml of air from the ink line. There should be some resistance; otherwise, that may be a sign of a blockage or seal issue.
Do a thorough cleaning (but don't overdo it):
- Running too many cleaning cycles tends to oversaturate your capping station and waste expensive ink. If you've already gone through 15 cleaning cycles, your printer must rest for about 12 hours to settle the ink. In the meantime, see if the faint yellow Printing gets better.
Inspect the New Cartridges:
- When your new cyan, magenta, and yellow cartridges arrive, scrutinize them closely. Inspect for any visible defects, including clogged vents or misaligned ink tanks, if the machine cannot detect an issue with the ink flow.
Flush The Print Head (If Necessary):
If the above steps do not fix the issue, you may need to fill the print head. Unplug the printer, remove the print head, and use a syringe to gently clear the yellow, cyan, and magenta nozzles with cleaning fluid. This will also remove residual clogs and allow for optimal ink flow.
General Advice
Printer technicians often need to fix a variety of problems at once. This will take some testing, as DTF and regular ink behave differently. Feel free to ask again if the issue still exists after the above steps. We're here to support you.
