The Capping Station has been Replaced, but Epson printers have two Red Blinking Lights.

Question:
I gave my Epson printer a new capping station. However, I’m obtaining two red blinking lights. I don’t know how to fix it. Will you help me get my printer working again?

Answer:
Thanks for contacting us with your question! I am sorry for the long delay in responding to your request. Even after a hardware replacement, printer woes can be a painful reminder that the hardware you now have differs from where you left it. We at BCH Technologies are committed to ensuring your dilemma deserves attention. Thank you for being so supportive, especially on our YouTube channel (https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies), where your participation grows our technical excellence.
Let’s start with the two red blinking lights and how to fix them.

What Do Two Red Blinking Lights Mean?
Two red blinking lights generally indicate that your Epson printer has identified an error. This is a common problem after capping station replacement and can be associated with:

  • The installer did not install the new part properly.
  • Problems with the alignment or positioning of the printhead.
  • Replaced or releveled so damn poorly sensor errors eventually erupted.

Troubleshooting & Resolving the Issue
Double-Check the Installation

  • Make sure the new capping station is installed correctly.
  • Please ensure all your tubing connections are tight and that there are no loose parts.
  • Ensure the printhead’s movement isn’t obstructed by debris or a blockage. Even tiny misalignments can disrupt the printer’s operation.

Check Printhead Placement

  • Power on the printer and watch the printhead move. It should automatically park on top of its capping station when not in use. If the printhead does not align correctly:
  • Disable the printer and swap the printhead by hand (to clear possible blocks).
  • Could you check that the capping station is seated correctly to seal against the printhead?

Check for Error Codes
To dig deeper into the issue, you can use the Epson Adjustment Program, a tool used to pull error codes. Here’s how:

  • Launch the Adjustment Program and choose your printer’s USB port from the dropdown.
  • Select Special Modification as well as Printer information coverage.
  • Click Check to show the latest error code at the top.

To understand error codes better, Google "BCH Epson Error" and access our guide on Epson’s error code triple secret. For instance, it may say there's a problem with the APG sensor.
The Adjustment Program is usually through a third-party seller of DTF printers or can be found through online searches if you don’t have access.

If the same issue repeats, then it must be a problem with one of the printer’s sensors, such as the encoder strip or APG sensor. Cleaning the encoder strip using a lint-free cloth and isopropyl alcohol may assist.
Printer problems are among the most hands-on issues, so they can be difficult to deal with. Hence, we can’t assist with remote troubleshooting, recommendations, or printer repairs. However, we provide a local diagnostic facility (https://bchtechnologies.com/printer-repair-service) for in-person evaluation and repair.

This is due to class and waitlist seating, so it becomes first-come/first-serve for those looking to release their printer. We will not be able to estimate more than when it comes to a backlog of printers awaiting release. We repair both the printers and specific parts and clearly instruct how to go about it.
Once again, we appreciate your reaching out and ongoing support for BCH Technologies. We are available by contact to answer additional questions you may have!
