Q&A: Solving Ink Flow Problems in Prestige DTF 1390 Printer

Question:

Just got a Prestige DTF 1390 printer from Galaxy Press changed cables print head etc. But then ink still would fail to come out. Same problem with the second printer — This is MY SECOND one… Printer runs but no ink is printed on nozzle checks Is it the capping station? Is there Another Issue with my Printer?

Answer:

Thank you for contacting us! From us all at BCH Technologies, we thank you again for your ongoing interest and participation, more specifically through our YouTube channel-https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies. Your feedback is integral to shaping the content we create and ensuring technical accuracy.

So now it's time to address the root problem you have. You have changed the cables and printhead, but there is still no ink flow. Great job doing it. I often get customers who bought new printheads and ask me why their new printheads are not working. Did you change the cables, flush the inks in the supply line, and refresh the tank? The answer is usually a "no". So, if your printer killed the last printhead, why would you think another printhead will work? So when you get a new printhead, inspecting FFC cables and service inks and checking the mainboard is a must. Also, there are a few more pointers. In the next few sections, I will discuss some key areas to explore.

1. Capping Station: Maintain Ink Flow

One of the most common can often overlooked is your capping station which helps to keep your print head clean and for proper ink flow during head cleaning. If the capping station is dirty or blocked with dried ink, it will not create enough vacuum to pull the ink through the printhead. This could be the reason you see ink in your capping station but no nozzle checks.

What you should do:

Inspect the capping station carefully for debris or dried ink.

Perform a head clean and see if ink is being primed into the waste line. If the waste line is empty, possible there s a problem with your capping station.

2. After step #1, Total Blank Page: F1 Fuse & Mainboard Components

When the printer is printing entirely blank pages, the problem can be on F1 fuse inside Mainboard. The fuse is for the head power. A blown fuse and no ink printed despite the printhead item/service or capping station running properly.

How to troubleshoot:

As long as the F1 fuse is good, you should get some ink on your nozzle check — even if it's faint or ill-defined. If no ink comes and the capping station working perfectly, then consider replacing F1 fuse. This may have to be replaced or inspected by a professional. We offer send-in repairs for mainboards here.

3. After step #1: Printhead Quality: Saying No to Cheap Replacements

If you get any slight inks on paper, the printhead quality could be at fault as well. Third-party vendors e.g. Amazon or Walmart, sell a range of low-priced (as cheap as $18) printheads that do not work or worse still they can damage your printer.

Typically what this means for your particular model is that a remanufactured printhead sells between $250-$400 while new heads cost anywhere from $400-600 dollars. Third-party sellers may have cheaper solutions; however, these can be detrimental to the future of your system by either burning out the mainboard or straining other hardware.

Fixing printer errors, especially hardware issues can be intricate at most and we do not provide troubleshooting service for that gang of problems. Our local diagnostic facility (Printer Repair Service) provides on-site service and maintenance of your printer, but we are only able to fulfill all requests if they fall within our working queue.

If you would rather fix the error yourselves, search solutions online or watch our YouTube!(https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies). The channel consists of well over than 9 years worth of video content and many times you will find using the search feature in a channel itself to be quicker. Moreover, YouTube might show you videos from other creators that similarly focus on and gives more tips for your problem.

We hope this gives you some insight on your issue and thank you again for contacting us! If you have trouble, feel free to reach out.
