Before we get to know your problem's solution.
Epson R2 White Ink Printing Problem and Solution
When white ink does not print, printing also often solves the problem of doing a park and prime. It lets you clear blockages and ensure the ink flows through the printhead properly. Follow these steps:
Step 1: Remove the Printhead from the Capping Station
Could you switch on the printer and let the printhead rest naturally against the capping station? This is necessary to allow for a proper seal.
Could you check the capping station for issues with the printhead not parking correctly?
Step 2: Prime Ink Flow With a Syringe
In just a minute or two, a glob of gelatinous material will flow into the syringe and small connector tube…
Slowly withdraw 2 ml of air in the line. Here’s what to observe:
If you don't get foil, just a big empty vacuum: This suggests that the print head is not affordably parked or there is a leakage in the capping station’s seal. Check if the printhead is seated correctly.
If you experience complete blockage (cannot draw air at all), this indicates that the capping station needs to be cleaned before use.
So, we start by drawing 1.5 ml of air. At this point, you should feel a small amount of resistance. When this happens, the nozzles are opened, and if you hear the membrane of the damper crinkle, you know that it has worked.
Pull up to the 2 ml line so the black rubber is past the 2 ml line. Press and hold for 10 seconds to fill the nozzles with ink.
Step 3: Perform the Printer’s Cleaning Cycle
Further clear the nozzles by using the printer’s built-in cleaning function.
Refrain from running a complete cleaning cycle for the next 12 hours, which could strain the system.
Avoid running cleanings in a row and not allowing your printer to cool down in between, as this can make clogs worse or create new ones.
Additional Notes:
The white ink used in DTF printers, such as the Epson R2, is denser than that of standard ink, which makes maintaining proper flow a little more complicated. Regular maintenance, such as capping station cleaning and damper inspection, is essential to keeping the printer in top shape.
Printer problems can be tricky to resolve because they are hands-on. So, we can't do remote troubleshooting, make recommendations, or help with our printer repairs. You may also request in-person evaluation and repair through our in-house diagnostic facility (https://bchtechnologies.com/printer-repair-service), which operates on a first-come, first-served basis due to the high demand.
Our facility is organized to repair a complete printer or individual components, with easy-to-follow instructions on what to do next. That said, we know our rates are not the lowest available. Therefore, we recommend you only help yourself through online research. → A good starting place would be on YouTube or at the homepage of our YouTube channel (https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies); you can search for specific videos with the search icon next to "About" on the right side of the menu bar.
Thanks again for contacting us! We hope this information will help you fix your printer. Please feel free to reach out with any other questions. Happy printing!
