Question
Suddenly, all the ink cartridges in my Epson C88+ printer show a red X. The cartridges are almost complete, and the printer has worked perfectly until now. Do you have a resetter for C88+ ink cartridges?
Answer
Thank you for reaching out to us at BCH Technologies! I'm sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I completely understand how frustrating printer issues can be, especially when they disrupt your workflow. That’s why we aim to provide detailed and thoughtful responses to every inquiry. We also sincerely appreciate your engagement and support, particularly with our YouTube channel (https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies). Your feedback helps us refine our expertise and create better content for the printer community.
Regarding your issue, we do offer a chip resetter for Epson C88+ ink cartridges (https://bchtechnologies.com/collections/accessories-resetters-cartridge/products/chip-resetter-for-epson-7-pin-cartridges-t0xx-series-t048-t049-t054-t055-t056-t057-t058-t059-t060-t062-t068-t069-t071-t077-t078-t079-t080-t081-t088-t099t098-as-reset-ep0), but there are several factors to consider:
-
What the Chip Resetter Works With:
- The resetter is compatible with OEM cartridges containing plenty of ink.
- It also works with third-party, one-time-use cartridges that have sufficient ink remaining.
-
Limitations of the Chip Resetter:
- It does not work with starter cartridges (the initial set provided with a new printer).
- It won’t reset third-party ARC (Auto Reset Chip) cartridges.
- OEM cartridges with very low ink levels (<15%) are unlikely to reset.
If all your cartridges simultaneously show a red X despite being almost complete, the issue might differ from the cartridges themselves. Instead, it could indicate a problem with the CSIC board, FFC cable, or even the mainboard of your printer. You may need to look over these components for any signs of damage or malfunction.
Addressing printer issues can be a complicated affair due to the hands-on nature of the problems. So, we cannot provide remote troubleshooting, suggestions, or support for printer repairs. We offer an in-person evaluation and repair service via our local diagnostic facility (https://bchtechnologies.com/printer-repair-service). Given the high demand, we operate on a first-come, first-served basis, and it might take a few weeks to get your printer.
