Epson 1430 Printer DTF Conversion Troubleshooting and Repair

Question
I’ve been using an old Epson 1430 printer for a while now. I converted it to sublimation at first, and this year, I converted it to DTF with a new printhead. Lately, I began to see a red error message, with the paper and ink lights flashing together. After resetting the ink pad counter, it worked for a while, but now it won't power up. I’ve been using a CISS ink tank, and I guess that ink is not flowing correctly. I think it triggered a backup in there. Anyway, I need this printer repaired because it has been dependable for my small T-shirt business. Can I send it to you to get it fixed?

Answer
Thank you so much for reaching out and for watching our videos! I’m sorry to read about the problems with your Epson 1430. I also apologize for our response times; printer issues can be urgent. Thank you, BCH Technologies, for your support on our YouTube channel [https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies]. We often receive queries, and your feedback helps us improve and expand our expertise.
At this time, we do not process mail-in repair orders, but I’d be glad to assist you in determining what may be causing the problems and your repair options. Your description suggests a few fundamental issues to deal with.
The red paper and ink lights on an Epson printer usually signal a service-required error (such as a serviced printer due to a full ink pad counter or a hardware fault). Resetting the ink pad counter might temporarily bypass this issue, but the underlying cause, like waste ink overflow or component wear, must be addressed to restore long-term functionality.
Second, the printer's inability to power on indicates a more severe hardware issue. This may be because the internal motherboard is damaged due to a leak during the ink-filling process or a clog caused by the CISS system. If ink has refused to back up internally, it has probably gotten to sensitive electronics, including the power supply.
I’m trying to give you something to set your expectation if you’re in consideration of repair costs. Epson 1430 printhead will run you around $400.
