Question:
I was wanting to know how to reset the Epson ET-4750 maintenance box using a reset tool. This Epson ET-4750 has been nothing but trouble. I've looked on the internet for how to reset it, but I don't find any instructions involving an arrow left, up, down by the LCD when it's powered off. Could you help me out? Thank you.
Answer:
If you're experiencing issues with the Epson ET-4750 and need to reset the maintenance box, here are the steps to follow for a more streamlined process:
- Finding a Reset Key: First, visit websites like https://inkchip.net or https://wic.support. On Inkchip, select "WIC" from the top navigation banner to access the reset tool. These sites offer reset keys for the maintenance box, so check to ensure your ET-4750 model is listed under their compatibility section. If compatible, you can purchase a reset key from either site. We particularly recommend Inkchip for its user-friendly interface and cost-effectiveness.
- Usage of Reset Key: The purpose of the reset key is to zero out the printer's memory regarding the fullness of the waste ink pads. This is a crucial step in the reset process but remember, it addresses the printer's memory, not the physical saturation of the ink pads.
- Addressing Physical Saturation: Although the reset key clears the memory, the waste ink pads may still be physically saturated with ink. To manage this, we recommend redirecting the ink flow from the pads to an external waste bottle. BCH Technologies offers external waste bottles in both 2.5 mm and 4.0 mm sizes, suitable for your printer. However, note that the actual connection size needed for your printer is 2.5 mm, despite the possible listing of 2.5 mm due to SKU limitations. Our dual connector accommodates a 2.5 mm connection on one end and offers compatibility for either 2.5 mm or 4.0 mm on the other end. Therefore, it doesn't matter which bottle you buy, the difference is how big of a hole you want to drill on your printer cover.
- For Printers with a Chip on the Waste Tank: It's important to note that for printers equipped with a chip on their waste tank, a simple software reset might not be feasible. In such cases, identifying the specific model of the waste tank and acquiring a dedicated physical resetter designed for it is necessary.
Please be aware that BCH Technologies does not sell reset keys nor are we associated with the websites mentioned. Should you have any issues using the software or questions on how to proceed, direct contact with the respective website's support is advised.
