Question:
Trying to revive our Epson WF2540 after cleaning a plugged print head, it blew the CC03 main board A2222/C6144 transistors. I replaced transistors, checked the F1 fuse, used multiple replacement print heads, last one new, checked all cable ribbons' continuity, confirmed ink pump works, but the printer failed to print. The printer is fully operational in all other aspects, just no ink output. The printer powers up and has all functions, i.e., paper feed and ink cart, clean cycle, all panel functions normal. It simply doesn't print any color. I've tried multiple print heads with the same result. That's why I was considering replacing the E09A7418A chip you sell for the Epson L120, which I think is the same for the WF2540. Does the Epson IC E09A7418A chip you sell commonly fail when the two power transistors fail? I'm at a loss trying to repair and assume another component on the mainboard is preventing ink output.
Answer:
The chip will be the next thing I will try. First, of course, the printer won't turn on without the two transistors. Then, the printer will turn on and print, but the printout is black without F1. After that, the printer function normally, but the printout is black without the E09A7418A chip (same symptom as without F1). The chip is very sturdy, but a power surge can kill it, so I've seen most of the cases are power surges.
