Which Waste Ink Tank Kit Fits the Epson ET-7750? Full Guide to Choosing the Right Size and Resetting the Counter

Customer Question:

I have an Epson ET-7750 and want to install an external waste ink tank. Which version of your waste ink tank kit should I use?

Response:

Choosing the Right Waste Ink Tank Kit for the Epson ET-7750

For the Epson ET-7750, both the 2.5 mm (often labeled as 25 mm) and 4.0 mm (40 mm) waste ink tank kits are compatible. Here’s how to make the best choice:

Understanding the Tube Size

  • Your Epson ET-7750’s waste ink output tube measures 2.5 mm in diameter.

  • While the product listing or SKU might say “25 mm,” that’s just shorthand—it refers to 2.5 mm, which is the correct size for your printer.

How the Dual Connector Works

Our dual-connector adapter offers a simple solution:

  • One end fits the 2.5 mm output tube on your printer.

  • The other end allows you to use either 2.5 mm or 4.0 mm tubing to route ink into your waste tank.

  • So, whether you select the 2.5 mm kit or the 4.0 mm kit, your ET-7750 will work with either.

Both options are functional, and the decision often comes down to:

  • Aesthetic preference (thicker tubing looks more robust).

  • Ease of drainage (4.0 mm tubing can handle higher ink flow during heavy cleaning cycles).

Resetting the Epson ET-7750’s Waste Ink Counter

The external waste tank is purely mechanical—it holds excess ink but does not communicate electronically with your printer. Eventually, your printer will still display a “Service Required” or “Ink Pad at End of Service Life” error, even with an external tank installed.

How to Reset the Waste Ink Counter

To clear this error and continue using your printer:

  1. Use WIC Reset Tools:

    • We recommend Inkchip (https://inkchip.net/wic) for resetting the waste counter.

    • Inkchip is favored for its user-friendly interface and affordable license system.

    • Another option is WICReset if you prefer alternatives.

  2. For Printers with Smart Chips on the Waste Tank:

    • Some Epson models use a chip in the waste tank itself.

    • In such cases, a software reset won’t work, and you’ll need a physical chip resetter designed explicitly for your waste tank model.

    • Identify your waste tank model (check inside the printer’s maintenance area), then look for a compatible chip resetter online.

A Note About Repairs and Support

Printer maintenance often involves hands-on work and mechanical evaluation, which can limit the effectiveness of remote support. For this reason, we're not able to provide remote diagnostics or repair assistance. However, we do offer an in-person evaluation and printer repair service (https://bchtechnologies.com/printer-repair-service) at our local facility. This service is in high demand, so turnaround times can be a few weeks and are provided on a first-come, first-served basis. We handle both full printer repairs and component-specific fixes, and we offer clear instructions for drop-off.

We also recognize that our in-shop services may not be suitable for every budget. That’s why we strongly encourage you to explore our YouTube channel (https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies) and other self-help resources. You can search for specific videos by clicking the search icon located near the “About” tab. We’ve built an extensive video library over the past nine years, and while we can’t recall each one by memory, YouTube search can quickly surface helpful content from both us and other creators.

Thanks again for reaching out and trusting BCH Technologies with your printer care needs. We’re here to support the DIY community and appreciate your interest in keeping your Epson printer running strong!
