Understanding Import Taxes and Cartridge Cover Types for the Canon Spongeless Modification Kit

Question:
A customer asked two things:

  1. Whether shipments to Europe include import tax, or if taxes are added upon arrival.

  2. Whether the Modification Kit for Making Spongeless Cartridge With Canon PG-210 / CL-211 / PG-240 / CL-241 / PG-245 / CL-246 / PG-243 / CL-244 / PG-260 / CL-261 / PG-275 / CL-276 (AS-RFC-CB2CC2) comes with clear cartridge covers or the older opaque white version.

Answer:

1. Import Tax for Orders Shipped to Europe

We do ship internationally, including to EU countries, but we do not prepay taxes, duties, or customs fees for any destination. We currently ship to 196 countries and regions, and because every country's import regulations, VAT percentages, and customs processing vary widely, it isn't possible for us to incorporate or pre-clear those fees into our pricing.

This means:

  • Import tax and customs duties are the customer's responsibility.

  • These fees are typically collected by your country's customs office when the package arrives.

  • The exact amount depends on factors such as:

    • Your country's VAT rate

    • Customs classification of the product

    • Local regulations regarding postal or courier imports

As an example, many EU countries apply VAT between 19%-25%, but this can differ, and some countries add handling fees or inspection charges.

Your local customs website or postal service usually provides the most accurate estimate based on your country's current import guidelines.

2. Cartridge Cover Type Included in the Spongeless Modification Kit

The AS-RFC-CB2CC2 Spongeless Modification Kit now comes with the clear plastic cartridge covers.

In some of our older videos, you may see opaque white covers. Those were part of the previous generation design. The current kits exclusively use the transparent version, which allows you to visually monitor ink levels-something many customers prefer for accuracy and convenience.

So to confirm:

Your kit will include clear covers
✘ Not the old opaque white ones

This update was made to improve usability and align with customer feedback, so you'll always receive the latest version unless otherwise specified.

Addressing printer issues and technical product inquiries can involve many variables, especially when it comes to hardware modifications and international shipping requirements. Because of the hands-on nature of these topics, we're not able to provide remote troubleshooting or repair guidance. However, we do offer in-person diagnostics through our local repair facility (https://bchtechnologies.com/printer-repair-service [https://bchtechnologies.com/printer-repair-service]). Due to high demand, service is provided on a first-come, first-served basis, and there may be a waiting period before drop-off. Our repair services cover both full printers and individual components, though we acknowledge they may not be the most economical option for everyone. For self-help, we strongly encourage exploring online resources, including our YouTube channel at BCH Technologies (https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies [https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies]). Use the search icon next to "About" on the channel to find videos by topic-this is the fastest way to locate tutorials among the many we've created over the years.
