Question:
I recently replaced two MOSFET transistors in my Epson Artisan 1430 printer, and everything seems fine. Do I need to perform a major reset to get the printer working again?
Answer:
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your progress! I apologize for not getting back to you sooner. Printer repairs are always urgent, and I want to ensure you get the most accurate and detailed information. First of all congratulations on replacing the MOSFET transistors successfully! The upside is that you do not need to do a major reset after this type of repair. If the printer turns on and does not show any error codes or otherwise not function correctly, then it is good to go as functioning properly.
But after replacing the electronic components, such as MOSFETs, it’s a good idea to test the printer thoroughly. Perform some basic tests (e.g., nozzle check or test print) to verify all functions are working properly. Be sure to listen for any error codes or abnormal sounds that might also suggest residual issues elsewhere in the circuitry. Also, check adjacent components for wear or damage that might have led to the original failure.
If your Artisan 1430 powers on properly, the repair is a good one. This model doesn’t need firmware-level resets after replacing the MOSFETs so you should be all set.
Addressing printer repairs, especially at the component level, can be intricate. Unfortunately, we’re unable to provide remote troubleshooting or detailed guidance for these repairs.
