Fixing Nozzle Clogs and Ink Issues on Epson WF-7725 Printers

Question:
I have an Epson WF-7725, and my printhead nozzle test shows that half the nozzles for color are completely gone. When I try to print an image, the printer lays down a lot of ink but doesn’t produce a clear image. What could be causing this, and how can I fix it?

Answer:

The problem you’re describing arises from very bad nozzle clogs, or air bubbles in the ink lines. If a nozzle test shows that nozzles are missing and the printer lays down too much or too little ink without producing crisp images, it could mean that the printhead isn’t distributing the ink evenly. Always perform a nozzle check from the maintenance menu to verify the pattern first before doing anything. But if it does have gaps then do 2–3 head cleanings. If running cleanings, don't do it too many times in a row, as this can overheat the printhead and make it worse.

This may involve manually priming or flushing the printhead with a cleaning solution. Manual priming: gently inject a small amount of cleaning solution into the ink ports to dissolve dried ink/clear air bubbles. The final option is flushing the printhead, which is effective, but risky, since one can end up leaking the nozzles.
