I am working on an Epson WorkForce WF-7840 with the CH67 mainboard. How many fuses are on this board? I found one fuse labeled F301. Is there another fuse somewhere else on the mainboard?

What Is F301?
The component marked F301 is a surface-mounted protective fuse on the main logic board. Its purpose is to protect circuitry from excessive current caused by conditions such as a short circuit, an incorrectly connected cable, damage to the printhead circuitry, or another electrical fault.
The "F" designation normally indicates a fuse, while the number identifies its position in the circuit. Therefore, F301 is a component designation rather than a fuse rating.
If you are searching the board for another component marked F302, F1, or a similar "F" designation, you may not find one. On this particular CH67 mainboard, F301 is the main fuse normally referenced for this circuit. How to Check F301
If you suspect that F301 has failed, you can check it with a multimeter using continuity or resistance mode.
First, disconnect the printer from AC power before working on the board. Ideally, disconnect the mainboard cables and isolate the board sufficiently to prevent misleading measurements or accidental shorts.
Place one multimeter probe on each end of F301.
A functioning fuse should normally measure very close to zero ohms and should produce a continuity indication on most multimeters. An open fuse will normally show no continuity or an open/infinite resistance reading.
However, finding that F301 is blown does not necessarily mean that the fuse itself was the original problem.
Do Not Simply Replace or Bridge a Blown F301 Fuse
This is particularly important.
A fuse normally blows because excessive current passed through it. If you replace F301 without locating the underlying short, the replacement fuse may immediately fail again.
Possible causes can include damage in the printhead circuit, contaminated or damaged FFC cables, ink or moisture reaching electrical contacts, improperly installed cables, damaged connectors, or failed components on the mainboard.
For example, if a printhead FFC cable has ink contamination or damaged contacts, it can create a short circuit between conductors. Installing another fuse without correcting that problem could cause the new fuse to fail and may cause additional damage.
For the same reason, we do not recommend permanently jumping or bypassing F301 with solder or wire. The fuse is there to protect more expensive circuitry. Bypassing it eliminates that protection.
If F301 Tests Good
If F301 has continuity but the printer is still malfunctioning, do not assume that the mainboard is electrically healthy. A fuse only tells you whether that particular protection path is open or closed.
A board can still have failed voltage regulators, MOSFETs or driver components, damaged connectors, corrosion, shorted capacitors, damaged printhead-driving circuitry, or other semiconductor failures while F301 remains intact.
Likewise, some components that resemble fuses visually may actually be resistors, inductors, capacitors, zero-ohm jumpers, or other surface-mounted devices. Their appearance alone should not be used to determine whether they are additional fuses.
No specific printer error code was provided with this question, so there is not an error code to diagnose in this particular case.
