I have an Epson Stylus Pro 9900 that keeps displaying an "Install Right Maintenance Tank" warning. I tried using a maintenance tank chip resetter, but every maintenance tank I test gives me only a solid red light on the resetter.

I have also replaced the chip-related component in the printer and Sub Board B, but the printer still does not recognize the right maintenance tank.

Does the solid red light mean that my resetter is defective, or is there another problem with the maintenance tank or its chip?

In this situation, the first thing I would suspect is the maintenance tank itself-particularly its chip-rather than immediately assuming that the resetter is defective.

What Does "Install Right Maintenance Tank" Mean on an Epson Stylus Pro 9900?

The Epson Stylus Pro 9900 uses maintenance tanks to collect waste ink produced during printhead cleaning, ink charging, and other maintenance operations. The printer does not determine the condition of the tank simply by physically checking how much waste ink is inside it. Instead, it communicates with an electronic chip installed on the maintenance tank.
