Regarding Epson error code 2H, this error is generally associated with the CR, or carriage, load position. In other words, the printer is detecting an abnormal condition while trying to move or position the printhead carriage. Because Epson service-code definitions and carriage sequences can vary somewhat between printer models, the exact diagnostic wording can depend on the model. However, when dealing with a 2H CR Load Position error, I would concentrate first on anything that can restrict the carriage or prevent the maintenance/capping mechanism from reaching the correct position.
Epson's own troubleshooting information for carriage errors similarly recommends checking for paper, foreign material, or another obstruction preventing the printhead carriage from returning to its proper position.
1. Check the Ink Lines First
If this printer has been converted for DTF, DTG, continuous ink, or another external ink-delivery system, the ink tubing should be one of the first things you inspect.
Turn the printer off and disconnect the power before doing mechanical inspection. Look carefully at the entire tubing path and check whether:

The ink lines are caught underneath or behind the carriage.

The tubing becomes too tight when the carriage moves toward either end of the printer.

A tube is rubbing against the printer frame.

The tubing is tangled, twisted, or kinked.

A clip, bracket, zip tie, or tubing holder has shifted.

The tubing loop has insufficient slack for full carriage travel.

Dried ink or adhesive is making the tubing stick to another component.
The carriage needs to travel across the printer without the external ink system pulling it backward or creating excessive resistance. A tubing arrangement may look perfectly fine while the carriage is parked but become too tight when the carriage reaches the opposite side.
With the printer powered off and only if the carriage mechanism allows it, gently move the carriage through its normal travel range. Do not force it. You are checking for smooth movement and trying to determine whether resistance increases at a particular location.
2. Make Sure the CR Carriage Can Move Smoothly
The next major area to check is the carriage itself.
A 2H CR Load Position error may occur when the printer attempts to move the carriage but detects more resistance or abnormal positioning than expected.
Look for physical obstructions such as:

Torn pieces of paper

Labels or adhesive residue

Dried ink buildup
-
Loose screws
-
Small plastic fragments
-
Loose cables
-
Improperly routed ink tubes

Foreign objects in the carriage path

Parts displaced during a previous repair
Also inspect the carriage guide and drive system. The carriage should not bind severely at one specific point.
If this happened after a printhead or carriage repair, pay particular attention to anything that was recently removed and reinstalled.

3. Check the Capping Station and Maintenance Station Synchronization
Another important area is the capping station.
This is especially important if the carriage appears to encounter resistance near its normal parking position.
The capping station contains components that move up and down to seal the printhead, wipe it, and perform cleaning operations. Epson documents describe the cap and wiper as part of the printhead-maintenance system.
If this mechanism becomes mechanically out of synchronization, the carriage may try to move while the cap, wiper, or another maintenance component is still raised. The carriage then encounters resistance and the printer may report a carriage-position or load-related error.
Inspect the capping station for:

A cap that remains raised when it should retract

A wiper that is stuck in the carriage path

Heavy dried-ink buildup
-
A jammed pump mechanism

Gears that have slipped out of their expected sequence

Broken or disconnected springs

Foreign material inside the maintenance station

A maintenance assembly that was installed incorrectly after previous service
When the carriage leaves the parking area, the capping and wiping mechanisms must move out of its way correctly.
Avoid forcing the carriage across a raised cap or wiper. Doing so can damage the printhead surface, maintenance station, carriage, or drive system.
4. Inspect the CR Encoder Strip
The CR encoder strip is another component worth checking.
This is the thin transparent strip running horizontally through the carriage area. The printer uses it to determine the carriage's location and movement.
Check whether the encoder strip is:

Dirty with ink mist or grease

Dislodged from one end
-
Twisted
-
Scratched or badly damaged
-
Incorrectly routed through the carriage's encoder sensor

Contaminated after a printhead or carriage repair
If you clean it, be extremely gentle. Do not pull hard on the strip or aggressively scrub the printed encoder markings. Also avoid coating it with lubricant.
A carriage may physically move correctly but still produce positioning errors if the printer cannot accurately determine where the carriage is.
5. Check the CR Belt and Drive Mechanism
Inspect the carriage drive belt as well.
Look for:

A loose belt

Missing or damaged belt teeth

Ink contamination
-
A belt that has moved out of position

Problems with the carriage motor pulley

Excessive resistance in the carriage mechanism
A carriage that can be moved by hand does not automatically mean the drive system is functioning correctly. The motor still needs to move it accurately and at the expected load.
6. Check for Dried Ink Around the Parking Area
On heavily used printers-and particularly printers modified for DTF printing-dried ink can become a significant mechanical problem.
Inspect the right-hand parking and capping area carefully. Layers of dried ink can interfere with the movement of the:

Wiper
-
Pump assembly

Carriage
-
Maintenance gears
The buildup may be small enough that everything appears approximately correct when inspected visually but large enough to prevent a mechanism from reaching its required position.
Remove contamination carefully without bending or changing the alignment of the maintenance components.
7. If the Error Appeared Immediately After a Repair
If error code 2H appeared immediately after replacing or repairing the printhead, carriage, capping station, ink tubing, or another internal component, I would strongly suspect something related to that work before assuming that an electronic component suddenly failed.
Go back through the repair and inspect:

Printhead seating

Carriage movement

Encoder-strip installation

Encoder-sensor alignment

Flat-flex cable routing

Capping-station position

8. If Everything Moves Correctly but Error Code 2H Remains
If you have confirmed that the ink lines are correctly routed, the carriage moves freely, the capping station is synchronized, the encoder strip is clean and properly installed, and there are no physical obstructions, then the problem may require deeper diagnosis.
Possible areas would then include the carriage position-detection system, carriage motor/drive system, wiring and FFC connections, sensors, or the printer's control electronics.
At that point, replacing parts without determining the actual failure can become expensive very quickly.
