In some cases, sellers may simply price an item according to perceived scarcity rather than its condition or original selling price.

An expired cartridge is not automatically unusable, but its condition is uncertain. Ink can thicken, separate, evaporate, or develop sediment during long-term storage. Internal seals and outlet valves may also deteriorate.
