Does BCH Technologies Fix Epson L1800 DTF Printer Main Boards?

Question:

I have two motherboards compatible with my L1800 DTF printer. Can I ship them to you, to see if there are any faults and fix them? How much is the labor to test and diagnose the boards? One of my printers, a Punehod A3 DTF printer, runs through its printing cycle but fails to deposit any ink onto the film. I've changed the motherboard, printhead, ribbon cables, and capping station, but they still don't work. The motherboard might be bad, but I don't know if I'm getting the correct readings from my multi-meter. You can help us by testing these motherboards.

Answer:

Screen Replacement - Motherboard Testing and Repair Services

Diagnosing motherboard problems is difficult enough, and this is even more so with DTF printers. Unfortunately, we cannot accept mail-in repairs for motherboards due to high demand. Currently, we are only re-evaluating local customers in person.

But since you know exactly where we are, I will ask Abby if you could ship that printer in for a look, assuming you can pick it up in person. (We do not return repaired printers to customers.)

Reasons Why You Get “No Ink on Film” After Replacing Parts

You have replaced the motherboard, printhead, ribbon cables, capping station, so considering that you already did this and you have the same issue, all I can suggest you is:

Faulty Mainboard

This means a blown fuse or a faulty MOSFET on the motherboard could stop the printer from sending signals to fire the printhead.

If, however, you have a working L1800 board on hand, this is the fastest way to verify whether the problem is a mainboard.

Printhead Signal Issues

Make sure FFC cables are installed correctly and their contacts are clean.

Look for bent or broken pins where the ribbon cable connects to the board.

Air in Your Ink Lines or Clogged Damper

Even the intact printhead and motherboard will not help if air bubbles in the ink tubes prevent ink from reaching the nozzles.

Might being the keyword, I'd suggest to manually prime the dampers with a syringe to suck ink through.

Print Settings or software related problems

When using DTF printing software, requirements may need to be considered for the correct flow of ink.

Check that the appropriate ICC profile and RIP software settings are in use.
