Can the WaterTurnado Printhead Unclog Machine Work for the Epson XP-15000?

Question:

I found the WaterTurnado Printhead Unclog Machine Service Kit (https://bch-youtube-fan-store.myshopify.com/products/waterturnado%E2%84%A2-printhead-unclog-machine-service-kit-for-l1800-l805-1390-1430-1400-adapter-for-tms-kit) and was curious whether it will work on the Epson XP-15000. Otherwise, do you have a compatible version for this printer?

Answer:

Compatible with Epson XP-15000?

Currently, this specific WaterTurnado™ kit is NOT compatible with the Epson XP-15000. The adapters only target printers such as the Epson L1800, L805, 1390, 1430, and 1400 series, which utilize an older printhead architecture than the XP-15000.

Well, we're working on one that does work with the XP-15000. The XP-15000 uses PrecisionCore, and its programming differs from models utilizing DX5 or DX7 heads.

If instead you are searching for a solution in between, here are some alternative approaches for unclogging your XP-15000 printhead:

Methods to Clean the Printhead for XP-15000 Printer

Flush by Hand Using a Cleaning Solution

  • And if the clog is not too severe, printhead cleaning liquid and syringe kits made for PrecisionCore printheads can be used.
  • Do not apply too much pressure—forced nozzles are advised to be scrapped—but be very cautious.

Printhead Soaking Method

  • Remove the ink cartridges and place a folded paper towel soaked in a printhead cleaning solution under it if the printhead needs cleaning.
  • Soak it for a few hours, or overnight, to help dissolve dried ink.
  • This is a low-risk approach that can dislodge some partial clogs.

Printer Setting: Power Clean

  • There is a Power Cleaning function in the XP-15000's maintenance settings.
  • Though this method wastes a lot of ink, it can occasionally clear light blockages without you having to intervene manually.
