Can I Make My Epson WF-2950 Chipless to Refill Ink Without Limitations?

Question:
I have an Epson WF-2950 printer and I’d like to make it chipless so I can refill the ink freely and always have the printer display ink levels as 100%. Will BCH Technologies offer a chipless solution for this model again?

Answer:

We at BCH Technologies are very grateful for your support and interest, especially in our YouTube channel (https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies). Your questions and feedback help us continue to improve our knowledge base and technical tutorials for everyone in the community.

Now, regarding the Epson WF-2950 and chipless conversion:

Unfortunately, traditional methods like Auto Reset Chips (ARC) and physical chip resetters have become outdated and unreliable for newer Epson printers. Most newer models—including the WF-2950—now use software-based solutions for going chipless.

Currently, the most reliable path for chipless conversion is through third-party software, and InkChip.net is one of the leading providers of this type of solution. You can check their official Chipless software page here:
👉 InkChip Chipless Software (https://inkchip.net/soft)

Here’s what you need to know:

  • If the WF-2950 is not listed on InkChip’s site yet, it may be too new or still unsupported. However, InkChip regularly updates its compatibility list, so keep checking its site for updates.

  • We also recommend checking chiplesssolutions.com and WIC Support (https://www.wic.support) for additional chipless tools and waste ink pad reset software.

If you do find a compatible chipless firmware:

Although we are not affiliated with InkChip, we've used their software personally and found it one of the more user-friendly and reliable options. They even provided us with a 10% discount code: kevin9966 (please note that availability or validity may vary over time).

For those wondering about ink level monitoring after chipless conversion, the printer will no longer track ink levels through the screen. However, this is not an issue if you switch to transparent refillable cartridges—you can visually monitor ink levels instead. You can find affordable empty cartridges (often $1–$2 per piece) on platforms like eBay by searching terms like "WF-2950 refillable cartridges" or "Epson 502 empty cartridges."

At this time, BCH Technologies does not sell Epson-compatible cartridges directly, but we continue to support our customers through how-to videos and tutorials that guide them through the process of converting and maintaining their printers.

Addressing printer issues can be a complicated affair due to the hands-on nature of the problems. So, we're not able to provide remote troubleshooting, suggestions, or support for printer repairs. We offer an in-person evaluation and repair service through our local diagnostic center (https://bchtechnologies.com/printer-repair-service). Due to high demand, turnaround times vary and we operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Our services include full printer repair or part-specific work, with guidance available if you drop off your unit. We know our pricing may not be ideal for everyone, so we highly encourage DIY solutions through online research. Start by checking our YouTube channel homepage (https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies) and use the search bar next to “About” to find relevant videos. With nine years of content, it's hard to track everything manually, but YouTube’s built-in search can quickly point you in the right direction—including related content from other creators.

Thanks again for reaching out to us! Many in the community share your interest in chipless solutions, and we’re always happy to provide guidance. Feel free to ask if you need additional clarification or help with specific steps—we’re here to help.
