Understanding Error 031006
Usually, Error 031006 signals a significant problem in the printer's internal parts. This error is generally associated with:
Fuse 301 Malfunction:

  • Fuse 301, also known as F1, is an important component that controls the printer's internal functions. It fails and then produces a cascade of errors, including error 031006.

Printhead FFC Cable Issues:

  • This error also occurs due to poor connections in the Flexible Flat Cable (FFC) that attaches to the printhead.

Printhead Quality:

  • The error may be due to a dammed or damaged printhead.

Printer Model Compatibility:

  • Although this error is prevalent on the Epson L15150, it's also linked to L3110, L4150, and L4260 models. Please ensure you follow the proper troubleshooting guidance for your exact printer.

Error 031006 Troubleshooting Steps
Check for Physical Damage

  • Could you check the printer for any visible damage, including loose or unplugged cables?
  • Check if the fuse 301 is firmly seated and intact. The problem may be with the fuse itself, and replacing this component could be a solution. Replace F1 (Fuse 301) from here (https://bchtechnologies.com/fuse-replacement)

Power Cycle the Printer

  • Please switch off the printer and disconnect it from the main supply.
  • This means that after at least five minutes, you can plug it back in and power it on. This process acts as a reset and can often clear temporary glitches causing the error.

Check and Reinsert the Printhead FFC Cable

  • Once opened, could you look closely at the FFC cable connecting the printhead to the mainboard?
  • Please make sure the cable is seated correctly and undamaged. If it looks worn or damaged, you may need to replace it to fix the error.

Test the Printhead

  • Could you remove your current printhead and install a working or known suitable printhead if you have one? This way, you can tell if the problem is a broken printhead.

Verify External Connections

  • Please ensure all the external cables connecting the printer to your computer are tight. Error 031006 may be due to loose connections that disrupt communication.

Additional Resources
Printer complications may be difficult to diagnose because repairs are often very hands-on. Sadly, we cannot perform remote troubleshooting or assist with complicated printer repairs. We do have an in-store (over-the-counter) evaluation and repair service (https://bchtechnologies.com/printer-repair-service) from our local diagnostic center; however, Services are first come, first served, and it can take a few weeks for a drop-off to be scheduled because of high demand. We can fix all printers and parts and will guide you on what steps to take next. Although our rates are not the lowest, we recommend self-help as a cost-effective solution.
