When it comes to your Epson Stylus Photo R2400, the scenario you're describing—where the paper, ink, and power lights are all blinking simultaneously—is unusual. According to Epson, there are specific combinations of LED lights that indicate different error states, but none directly correspond to all three lights blinking at the same time. Let's break down the individual lights and possible causes:
-
Paper and Ink Lights Blinking:
Typically, the paper and ink lights blinking together indicate one of the following issues:- Cover Open or Paper Tray Error: In this case, the paper light blinks fast, while the ink light blinks slowly.
- Fatal Error: Both the paper and ink lights blink quickly, signaling a critical issue that may require professional repair.
- Waste Ink Pad Full: In this scenario, the paper and ink lights blink alternately, indicating that the waste ink pad has reached its capacity and needs servicing.
None of these scenarios, however, involves the power light blinking.
-
Power Light Blinking:
The power light usually blinks when the printer is processing data, detecting ink levels, changing cartridges, or powering down. This leads us to believe that there might be a more complex issue affecting both the printhead mechanism and the electronic system. -
Here is a chart for all the scenarios.
Since the pump assembly isn't moving when you manually shift the ink carriage, there may indeed be a mechanical fault with the pump or the capping station, but the blinking lights point to a deeper diagnostic need.
To truly understand what’s happening, you’ll need to use a specialized program called the "Adjustment Program for R2400." This software is utilized by Epson technicians to run diagnostics and reset certain error states. You can find this program online, but we recommend downloading it from reputable sources to avoid malware or faulty software.
Once you have access to the adjustment program, you can perform deeper diagnostics to identify specific error codes and determine if the issue is with the pump assembly, the waste ink pad, or an electronic malfunction.
