Thank you for reaching out to us! We at BCH Technologies appreciate your engagement and support, primarily through our YouTube channel, BCH Technologies YouTube Channel [https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies]. Your questions help us enhance our technical knowledge, and we’re always happy to assist.
The issue you're facing where InkChip’s chipless firmware doesn’t recognize your printer could be related to a few common problems, and I'll walk you through them.
First, ensure you have installed Epson’s driver, not just the firmware. It’s important to understand that drivers and firmware are two different things. You’ll need to install the Epson driver on your computer before you begin the chipless process. This driver enables your computer to communicate with the printer correctly.
Note: Avoid downloading any Epson firmware updates. These updates may overwrite the chipless firmware, causing recognition problems.
If you’re still encountering issues, here are some additional steps you can try:
- Install on Another Computer: Although you mentioned not having another computer available if you can gain access to one, this can help isolate whether the issue is specific to your current system. The chipless firmware software can sometimes have trouble attaching to particular ports, and a different machine may help resolve the problem.
- Use a Shorter USB Cord: Believe it or not, the length of your USB cable could be causing the issue. The software has limitations when attaching to high-numbered USB ports. If your printer is assigned a port number higher than 64, the chipless software may be unable to discover it. A shorter USB cord can force the printer to use a lower port number, making it easier for the software to connect.
Lastly, if you decide to purchase from InkChip.net, remember to use the coupon code Kevin9966. Depending on availability, this code might still give you a discount. It’s always worth a try to save some money!
Addressing printer issues like this can be tricky due to the hands-on nature of troubleshooting. While we can offer these suggestions, we cannot provide remote technical support. Instead, we recommend our in-person evaluation and repair service at our local diagnostic facility [https://bchtechnologies.com/printer-repair-service]. Since we operate on a first-come, first-served basis, it may take a few weeks for us to service your printer. Our services cover both complete printer repairs and individual part fixes.
For those looking to resolve issues on their own, we highly recommend starting with online research, particularly through YouTube. Visit our YouTube channel [https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies] and use the search icon next to the "About" section for specific video tutorials. With over nine years of content, it’s sometimes difficult to recall every single video, but YouTube's search function can also suggest helpful videos from other channels.
Thank you again for contacting us! Your support means a lot, and we hope these suggestions help you resolve your printer issue.
