Question:
I’m ordering a replacement capping station with an ink pump, but my original does not have this red wire. I’m unsure of where this part fits. Can you explain what it does and where it connects?
Answer:
I appreciate you writing in with your question, and I apologize for the delay in responding. Printer problems can be confusing, and I want you to get the best possible answer. The other thing you mention as a “red thing” is the ground wire. The primary function is to protect you from static electricity capping in the body, and it is also used to enhance the scenes when the printer is running. You may connect this wire to the remaining metallic portion of the printer’s frame. Usually, this is found bundled with the ASF motor’s ground wire, but you can use any substantial metal part on the printer. Ensure that it is well connected for grounding and avoid static-related reasons.
A Note on Printer Repairs
Printer issues are a real pain to deal with as these problems are physical. Unfortunately, we cannot help with remote troubleshooting, recommendations, or help with printer repairs. However, we have an onsite evaluation and repair service through our local diagnostic center [https://bchtechnologies.com/printer-repair-service]. We can take a waitlist at this time, as these are in incredibly high demand, and we are operating on a first-come, first-serve basis, so it may take up to a few weeks to evaluate your printer.
All of our services are designed to fix the entire printer or specific components, with specific instructions on what to do next. Our rates might not be the cheapest, but we strongly urge you to seek out self-help resources, like our YouTube channel homepage (https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies). Use the search function to find specific tutorials, or check with other content creators for videos that address your issue.
We appreciate your question and BCH Technologies' support, so thank you once again. Let me know if that explains what the red ground wire is for, and good luck with your printer repair!
