What is happening with your DTF printer is a half-kept capping station. It is possible that the ink does not drain well and returns to the cap station, blackening the printer platform and eventually damaging the head. The issue is further detailed, and how to deal with it will be explained here as well:

Knowing Capping Station: This station is created for the printhead to rest and moisturize. A clogged cap station can result in ink running back into the cap instead of being suctioned away correctly. This clog often leads to your printhead getting clogged. Instead of removing ink, these inks go back into the capping station, doing a large amount of staining.

Potential Causes:

Clogged Capping Station—When waste ink remains, or other materials accumulate in the capping station, this can result in blockage of the transfer channel for Ink. The collected residue, when allowed to build up long enough, will form partial clogs and inhibit the proper flow of ink.

Blocked Tubes: Problems with the tubes attached to the capping station can sometimes occur.

 Recommended Solutions:

Clean Capping Station: The first point to note is thoroughly cleaning the capping station. You might have to break it down for complete cleaning. Watch our video on how to unclog the capping station here ►https://youtu.be/44WEw6UKp2A

Check and Clean the Tubes: Check to make sure there are no blockages in the tubes going to/from the capping station. If necessary, clean or change them.

How to: Regular maintenance can help avoid these problems. Watch our video about regular maintenance to help you prevent further issues. Use the correct wet capping procedures and keep it clean to maintain proper operation of your capping station and prolong the life of your print head.
