How to Clear Epson XP Printer Error Codes 000031 and 033007 During DTF Conversions

Question: Good morning. I was converting my Epson XP printer to DTF printing, and I connected the assist machine by following another guide. At first, it was error code 000031. Following BCH Technologies' instructions from YouTube and using the silicone and printhead guard I ordered from you, I now have error code 033007. Hopefully, I'll be in North Carolina soon and have someone help me get my printer back on track to start printing DTFs again. I appreciate your cooperation on this matter.

Error Code 000031 Explained
Error code 000031 "CR Load Position Excess Load Error" indicates an issue with the Paper Feed (PF) Motor. This error suggests resistance when your printer pushes the paper through the feed system. Here are some frequent culprits and their possible remedies:

Causes:

PF Motor Failure:

  • The motor that pushes the paper through may have failed.

PF Drive Mechanism Overload:

  • A jammed paper or foreign object in the paper path can overload the drive mechanism.

Tooth skip of the PF Timing Belt:

  • If the timing belt is off or broken, it can stop the paper feed.

PF Timing Belt Tension Incorrect:

  • An overly loose or tight belt tension can affect the printer's functioning.

Cable Disconnection:

  • This error can occur due to a disconnected or loose cable associated with the feed mechanism.

Solutions:
Check for Paper Jams or Blockages:

  • Inspect the paper path for jams, debris, or foreign objects. Clear the feed system of any obstructions.

Check the PF Timing Belt:

  • Check the belt inside the opened printer for alignment and correct tension. If you can't find a belt that fits, replace it.

Examine Cables:

  • Check if all the cables connected to PF Motor and related would be intact.

Test the PF Motor:

  • Swapping it out may solve the error if you suspect the motor is to blame.

What to Know About Error Code 033007
Error code 033007 is usually related to an overload or communication error between the printer's main components. It typically appears following the resolution of previous mistakes, such as 000031, and suggests that issues remain with:

  • The printhead assembly (or upon its calibration).
  • The assist machine's connections with the printer's mainboard.
  • Wires the electrical components, the power supply, or communication cables

Troubleshooting Steps

Verify Printhead Alignment:

  • Make sure the printhead is correctly positioned and adjusted. If they do, remove and reinstall it carefully.

Inspect All Connections:

  • Make sure the assist machine and the printer are correctly connected. Check whether any cables are loose or miswired.

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Please switch off the printer, unplug it from the wall, and wait for 5 minutes. Then, plug it back in and restart.

Without Assist Machine: Test Printer

  • You can just run the printer in a standard configuration without using the assist machine to narrow down the cause.

Professional Repair:

  • If the above measures don't work, professional servicing might be required to fix more severe electrical or firmware problems.
