Epson ET-2750 "Ink Pad Needs Service" Error and Waste Tank Reset

Question:
I had to replace the waste tank of my printer, Epson ET-2750, but now it prints no more. The error reads: Inkpad needs service. I was told I had to clear the waste tank counter but was not given any code. I contacted Epson support, and they told me this issue is too complex for them to service because it requires proprietary Epson software. This is irritating as I purchased the printer (specifically with its Ecotank setup and environmental claims). Now, it would appear that I may throw away not only my new ink tank but two boxes of all-color ink = total waste. What should I do?

Answer:

Thanks for contacting us and for supporting our efforts. We at BCH Technologies appreciate your participation and provide you support, specifically on our YouTube channel. Your feedback helps us sharpen our skills and create more meaningful content for the community.

Your Epson ET-2750 problems, meanwhile, have a less excusable cause: you ran into an "ink pad needs service" fault mostly since the waste tank was changed. The reason for a message like this is that the printer has an internal waste ink pad counter that records how many pages are printed and when to stop printing more as, otherwise, it can be overflowed by inks resulting from the printer's work.

Fortunately, you will not have to throw away your printer, ink tanks, or all that stored-up ink! Though Epson's software can restore the waste tank counter to zero (and I'm not aware of any others that do), it is hardly a suitable solution. You can use third-party software such as the WIC Reset Utility, which you can download from inkchip.net. Here's how it works:

  • Download the WIC Reset Utility software from inkchip.net.
  • Through the same site, you can purchase a one-time-use reset code to reset your printer’s waste ink counter.
  • Follow the detailed instructions in this YouTube tutorial to reset the counter properly and clear the error message.

After that, your printer will receive the message that you have replaced the waste tank and start printing typically. This easy solution will resuscitate your printer without throwing it away or all of that ink.

Note: Resetting the waste ink pad counter is only safe enough, but you must check your waste ink tank to see whether the waste is complete and the ink overflow is over. Printer Issues are a hands-on problem that is difficult to address with additional considerations and can slow the progress. So we cannot troubleshoot with that and service for repairing the printer. Nevertheless, we provide an in-shop evaluation and maintenance service through our local diagnostics facility (https://bchtechnologies.com/printer-repair-service). Due to the high volume of calls from all forms of media, which operate on a first-come-first-served basis, we will require 2-6 weeks for your printer services.

These services are flexible, and we repair only what you demand or the whole printer. We will even guide you to your nearest post or drop-off service for those boot repairs. But kill switch; our repair rates may not be the most cost-effective. We strongly suggest visiting our YouTube channel (https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies) for potential do-it-yourself remedies. You can also use the search icon to find a specific video, or YouTube will suggest videos from similar channels.

Good luck, Feel free to come back if you have any other questions! And yes, thanks for your continued trust in BCH Technologies!
