Epson ET-2720 Error E-02 Fix: Repair and Estimate

I am facing Error E-02 in my Epson ET-2720 printer. After verifying that my Epson software and drivers were up to date, and this didn’t help, I contacted two local repair shops (easily found on Epson’s website). Repair Service Options
We have two options that they currently offer:
 
$75 Service – This includes diagnostics on the mainboard only. This limited solution may not resolve more critical problems with the printer.
$300 Service is the first step in the complete diagnostic and repair process. Here’s a breakdown:

• Diagnostic Fee: $200 (non-refundable)
• Deposit Repair Labor: $100 (covers the first 1.5 hours of labor work)
• Cost Per Hour After Diagnosis (If Further Labor is Required): $65/hr

This is paid upfront in a deposit that will be adjusted based on the total time cards used. We credit part of the deposited fee for repairs done in less than 1.5 hours. However, the repair rates can climb above what you put down if repairs or replacements of parts are too involved.
 
Timeline and Repair Process
Because of the number of requests, we are only prioritizing local drop-offs and pickups now. Alas, we are not currently accepting mail-in orders. If you can wait, our target time will likely be weeks, depending on our backlogs. Shipping costs are not included, and if you want to send your printer back when that option becomes available, we advise packing it very carefully for delivery.
 
Considerations for the Repair
The Epson ET-2720 does have a $200 price tag, but its internal complexity is similar to that of more expensive printers. This is why our rates do not vary based on the model of the car. Repairs may involve:

• Diagnostics to better understand the specific cause of Error E-02
• Repairs or replacement of internal parts
