Comprehensive Guide to Setting Up Your Professional CISS System

Question:
I recently purchased the professional CISS system, but some components don’t match what is shown in the setup videos, and I have a few questions. Where do you secure the link chain to the printer on the end heading towards the ink tanks? Also, the video shows white dampers without elbows, but mine have elbows installed. Lastly, what is the ink order for the RIP software once everything is set up?

Answer:
Thank you for contacting us with your questions about the CISS system! I want to apologize for the outdated details in the video and for being unable to address your concerns sooner. Printer setup issues can be time-sensitive, and I want to provide you with the most detailed guidance possible. At BCH Technologies, we sincerely appreciate your engagement and support, particularly with our YouTube channel (https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies), as your feedback helps us refine our technical content.
To address your questions:
  1. Securing the Link Chain: On the end of the link chain, you’ll find a piece of 3M double-sided tape heading toward the ink tanks. Remove the protective sheet and secure this end of the chain to the rail. The rail ensures the drag chain remains stable and aligned during operation, while the double-sided tape firmly holds the end. This setup keeps the chain adequately positioned, minimizing the risk of misalignment or snagging during printing.
  2. Adapters for Dampers with Elbows: You can use the Small Profile Tubing Adapter for V2 Dampers for dampers with elbows already installed. This adapter provides a precise solution, allowing you to connect C2 or C3 tubes to your V2 damper without adding unnecessary height. By maintaining a low profile, the adapter ensures that your scanner lid closes fully without the tubing scraping the surface, resulting in a clean and efficient installation.
These adapters are available for purchase individually or in six-packs for added convenience. Please make sure you select the correct tube size for a seamless connection. You can find more information and order these adapters here: Small Profile Adapter for V2 Dampers (https://bchtechnologies.com/products/small-profile-adapter-for-v2-dampers).
  3. Ink Order for RIP Software: Once your CISS system is fully installed and operational, the ink order in the RIP software will depend on the printer model and the specific ink configuration you use. Generally, the order follows the colour sequence from the printer’s cartridge slots. If you are using a custom ink setup, refer to the documentation provided with your RIP software to ensure proper colour mapping. For advanced configurations, additional guidance may be found in our videos or through the RIP software’s support team.
Additional Note:
Addressing printer issues can be a complicated affair due to the hands-on nature of the problems. So, we cannot provide remote troubleshooting, suggestions, or support for printer repairs. We offer an in-person evaluation and repair service via our local diagnostic facility (BCH Printer Repair Service (https://bchtechnologies.com/printer-repair-service)). Given the high demand, we operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Getting your printer to drop off may take a few weeks. Our services are structured to repair a whole printer or specific parts, with clear instructions on how to proceed. However, we acknowledge that our rates could be more economical. Thus, we highly recommend that you resort to self-help via online research. You can start by checking out YouTube or visiting our YouTube channel’s homepage (https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies). Look for specific videos using the search icon next to "About" on the right-hand side of the menu bar. I receive dozens of queries every day asking about videos for specific topics. Having created videos over the past nine years, it's challenging to remember every single one. Therefore, using YouTube's search function would be most efficient. Plus, YouTube might suggest relevant videos from other channels that could assist you.
Thank you again for your patience and trust in BCH Technologies. Please don’t hesitate to contact us with more questions as you continue setting up your CISS system!
