Choosing the right size hoses is critical to ensure the effective pumping of the white ink (which, due to its high viscosity, has the potential to clog), to replace hoses in an Epson ET-8550 converted to DTF.

Recommended Hose and Connector Sizes:

ET-8550 printers, white ink C2 size.
The ET-8550's available vertical space is limited, so C2-size connectors and hoses, if you will, are better suited for white ink. The compact size ensures the system sits neatly inside the printer without obstruction.

C3 for External Hose Systems:
C3 connectors should only be used for white ink when building an external hose system (outside the printer). C3 connectors can hold a little more capacity, which is helpful for the increased pigment load of white ink.

C2 for Colored Ink:
C2 connectors and hoses match other colors. Its smaller size allows it to operate well, even given the ET-8550's space limitations.

Tips for Replacing DTF Hose

Material Quality: Use hoses with a solvent-resistant construction, such as DTF ink (mainly white ink), which will cut through the hoses over time.

Unclogging of Clogged: If the hoses ever become blocked, flushing them out with a cleaning solution (commonly compatible degreasers) will keep the sedimentation of the white ink pigments at bay.

Note: Check that the connector and hose specification as on our website. We’ve pulled the entry together with thorough descriptions and details like connection sizes, so you’ll know exactly what you’re getting.

With the nature of printer issues being very hands-on, addressing them can be a complicated affair. Unfortunately, we cannot help you with printer troubleshooting, making recommendations, or making repairs over the phone. Our local diagnostic factory provides an in-person assessment and repair service (https://bchtechnologies.com/printer-repair-service). Due to high volume, we will be operating on a first-come, first-serve basis, and it could take weeks before we are ready to book a drop-off appointment. Our services are built around the complete printer vs section-specific repair with straightforward directions on how to proceed. That said, our rates may not be the cheapest around, and we encourage you to research online and look for self-help options.
