A waste tank is whenever the printer does self-cleaning, it dunks some waste ink into a waste pad. Therefore if you do lots of cleaning, the waste tank will be full. You can look at the printer's right back corner; there's a screw secure the cover. The screw is going to stay with the body; use your finger to peel off the cover. The second screw is underneath the tank. Now we can take the tank out, and you can see it is almost full.
Now we take the screw off the top. Now you can lift one corner and use a finger to work around it. I got a tweezer or something to push those tabs in. You can see all the sponges are soaked. Remember this part of the video because you're going to come back and see how you can put it back together. I took a picture for you here; when you put the pad back, you can go back and visit this picture. If you're lucky to have a wife or girlfriend who wears pantyhose, you can put those pads inside the stockings and throw them in the washing machine and wash like a cloth. If you don't have a wife or a girlfriend or get a ban from doing that like me, you can use your garden hose. It takes a little bit longer, but it saves your relationship.
Now you can put a sponge in a salad spinner, spins out all the excess water, and then air dry the sponges. You can do this over and over again. You don't have to buy new sponges. However, there's a counter inside the printer that you have to reset the counter back to zero. It has to be done with software. There is quite a few software that can do that. The one I trust is inkchip.net. I trust it because I use it a lot, and I know it doesn't have a virus. Secondly, it has an excellent discount if you buy multiple keys.
Each key can be used for multiple models. I can buy five of them, use them on five different printers, and get a discount. Firstly, you want to make sure that your model is covered with software. Otherwise, it won't work. This one is fine. Please do not buy the key yet; you want to download software, make sure it works. Where to download is counterintuitive. You say you choose your language for free download, and then for me, you're going to choose English. When you click English, it starts downloading.
This program is not signed. Your antivirus might catch it, say it's not a signed software. Anyway, if it does, you disable your antivirus. For me, my Norton thinks it's okay, so I start running it. It seems the program was reading in C++ doesn't look like C sharp. If you do not have a C++ redistributable, it will automatically install those packages for you. By the way, I was a computer programmer. I graduated from the University of Illinois with a computer science degree, that's why I know how this program is built. Now you need to connect your printer with a USB cable to the computer.
You cannot just use wireless. The first thing we want to do is we want to check the waste ink counters. There's a drop-down, you select your printer, and you'll read the waste ink counters. It surprises me that it only shows that the ink tank is half full with that much ink. I already bought the key; let's go forward and reset it. I click the Reset Waste Ink Counter button. I can put in the key and click okay. My Norton firewall is not happy about it because it is not signed and is trying to connect to the outside world to verify the key. I say, okay, let that connect, then it is done, the counter is reset. It asks you to restart the printer.
After the restart, I'm going to read the ink counter. You can see the ink counter is zero now. I'll be safe to print another 18,000 pages. 18,314 pages. This printer is almost new. I hope you enjoyed this video. Visit us at www.bchtechnologies.com or locally at Greensboro, North Carolina. Cheers.
