Today we are going to reset waste ink for an Epson Stylus Pro 9700. The printer was given to us for free because of a clogged printer. We're going to do some unclogging videos, so please subscribe if you want our future updates.
The person who donated this printer used it for sublimation printing with Pyrojet ink. Because the printer was used for professional printing, we expect a high volume to be used, and the waste ink pad must be filled quickly.
When we start the printer, a warning message says, "Replace the right side maintenance tank." We're going to use a resetter called AS-RESET-MB4. It is available at www.bchtechnologies.com, under accessories, and then resetters for the waste tank. We go to the right side of the printer; at the back, we reach down and pull out the maintenance box. We can see the chip on the box.
We took off the MB4 resetter and aligned it up the pins with the chip. We pushed the resetter down and started seeing a flashing red light. After the light turned green, the maintenance box was ready. Let's put the box back to the printer and see if it's working.
