Hey guys, I just wanted to show you how to attach a clear belt—sometimes referred to as a timing belt—CR scale for the wide format printer. Though it’s similar to the desktop models, you attach the spring on the right and then pull on the right to attach that hook. The only difference is the spring itself.
Let me give you a clear idea of this so you can picture how it’s constructed. Put your hand in the back and lift the back end to remove the spring. The thing should fall out, and you will be able to lift the whole spring.
To install, perform these steps in the opposite order. Place the spring first, sliding it back into place. Check the tension and attach the right side. Finally, take a look at the back. Make sure that the encoder strip runs through the reader—not outside, not twisted. I know it can be tricky if you do not take the cover off, because then you’ll have to work through that little, tiny window in the housing.
