Question for a real customer with purchase:
I purchased a used Epson ET-8550 control panel, but it doesn’t work. The item was listed as "Not Returnable," but not as "Non-Refundable." The panel is unresponsive to touch, and I’m requesting a refund and keep the product.
Kevin's Answer:
Thank you for reaching out! We understand how frustrating this situation can be and appreciate your detailed explanation. Please don't order any more parts without understanding what the problem is. THIS PANEL IS TESTED WORKING BEFORE WE SHIP TO YOU.
Control Panel Issue
All replacement parts are rigorously tested before shipping. If the control panel is unresponsive, common issues could include:
- Control Panel FFC Cable Issues: Ensure the FFC cable is securely attached to the mainboard and undamaged. Because this product's FFC cable has super fine teeth, you may want to have a new set of cable if the FFC cable's teeth seems to be uneven.
- Mainboard Problems: A faulty mainboard can prevent communication with the control panel. Always check the mainboard before replacing the panel. If you aren't sure, we have a mainboard repair program.
Please do not simply replace the panel if your printer doesn't turn on. It's like replacing the headlights on your car when it won't start — the problem could lie elsewhere, and focusing on the wrong part won't resolve the issue.
Our product disclaimer notes:
"Please note, this part may or may not resolve the issue with your printer. Be sure to verify that this is the specific part you need before purchase."

You may send the panel to us for testing:
- If the Panel Works: No refund will be issued. Return shipping charges will apply. We will send you a bill and ship the item back to you.
- If the Panel is Defective: A full refund will be issued.
Please let us know how you’d like to proceed.

Thank you Kevin for this very detail video. The pump in my printer was completely clogged. Your video was very helpful. Luckily, I didn't have to completely disassemble the pump. One step before completely disassembling the pump I was able to flush out the clogs inside the tubes. This video is a valuable tool along with print head cleaning, tools and other maintenance tips. I would recommend this video to anyone that has a clogged pump. While the printer is apart inspect and clean other areas. Thanks again Kevin.

This is actually my 2nd CISS system. The first was from a vendor preassembled and filled for plug and play with a Canon 2720. After installing it, I realized that the 4x45ml capacity wasn't clearly stated and is much too small. I then swapped out the tiny Black 45ml tank with a BCH 500ml tank. Easy. 45ml colors are sufficient. I can run the Canon for 4 months. More importantly I learned how a CISS is assembled and it's operating characteristics. Today I ambitiously added a 500ml BK and 3x75ml Color tanks to my Brother MFC-5930DW refillable cartridges. I have to refill the cartridges every 2 weeks. Now I should have at least 4 months between refills. BCH had all the parts to build my CISS and explanations on how the CISS bottles work and their positioning.

I bought a printer "customer return" from a liar on eBay. The thing was heavily used and by no means a returnable item. Though he gave back half, I had no idea if I was gonna recover anything more but B.C.H. came through and had the parts necessary for me to rebuild it.
