Question:
I purchased a printhead conversion breakout board for my DTF printer from BCH Technologies. However, it does not match the one I currently have. I would like to know whether you have the exact adapter I am looking for, or if I need to purchase a new printhead that is compatible with the chip I bought from you.
Understanding Your Purchase:
The printhead conversion breakout board you purchased is specifically designed for UV, DTF, or DTG printers using Epson L1800 and R1390 motherboards. This adapter board enables seamless conversion to Epson L805 and L800 printheads, allowing for cost savings by avoiding the more expensive Epson L1800 and R1390 printheads.
What the Package Includes:
-
Adapter board
-
Two short cables (as shown in the product image)
-
Note: The original L1800 printhead cable that connects from the mainboard to the printhead is not included.
Installation Instructions:
-
Connect the L1800 cable to the wider connection side of the board (see picture for reference).
-
The narrower connection side is for the L805 printhead.
-
Carefully insert the two short cables into the narrower side, ensuring the blue side of all four cables faces the board, and the silver side faces away (up).
-
Connect the two short cables to your L805 printhead, and you’re ready to print.
-
To revert, simply remove the adapter board and continue using your original L1800 or R1390 printhead.
The Board You Currently Have:
It appears that the board you have is not the same as the one sold by BCH Technologies. Not all boards with similar sizes are identical. Some DTF printers based on the L1800 or 1390 models include a modification board near the printhead to reduce costs. This modification board allows the L1800 printhead cable to connect, converting the output to be compatible with an L805 printhead. While the printer model might be L1800 or 1390, the printhead itself could be L805 due to this modification.
This modification board is often a green circuit board located on the printhead carriage. If you aim to install a genuine L1800 printhead, you can unplug the cable from this modification board and connect it directly to the L1800 printhead. We recommend checking your current printhead setup to ensure compatibility before purchasing a replacement.
Verifying Your Board:
The board purchased from us features a cable with a 9-pin (L1800 printhead) on one end and a 13-pin (L805 printhead) on the other. You can connect the L1800 cable into one end and use the L805 printhead on the other. In contrast, the board you currently have may feature two 9-pin connections and include an F1 fuse in the center. This indicates it is not a conversion board but rather a protection board. You can choose to ignore this board and connect directly to the L1800 printhead, or inspect and replace the fuse if necessary.
