Question:
I followed your video to convert my Epson EcoTank 3710 to sublimation. This was a new printer, I had used Epson ink at first, and it had printed about 50 pages without issue. Now it’s just printing blank pages. Please help!
Answer:
Now, all you have done for your Epson EcoTank 3710 is printed 50 pages without problems so that’s a good indication that the nozzles are not clogged. The problem is more likely to be in the ink supply system. First, make sure that the dampers are properly primed. If they were not fully primed out during the conversion process, air may be obstructing the ink from reaching the printhead. They pop the dampers out, then stick a syringe or similar tool into the damper inlet and gently suck ink through to make sure it flows freely. Reattach the dampers, making sure they are locked in place.
Next, park the printhead correctly on the capping station. Power on the printer and let the printhead naturally settle into the capping station. To assist with ink flow, especially since sublimation ink is thicker than standard ink, connect a syringe to the waste line of the capping station. Suck in 2 ml of air, pulling ink into the printhead. Begin with 1.5ml and monitor for resistance. Resistance shows that the nozzles are sealed and working properly. It could be that the printhead is not parked if you draw air, or that you have capping station sealing issue. If the resistance is high, the capping station might be dirty and must be cleaned.
When the priming is complete, run a standard cleaning cycle using the printer’s software. Don’t use murderous cleaning modes for at least 12 hours, and don’t clean back-to-back to avoid overburdening the system. Doing this step will give you good results with better printing performance again.
Printer issue is one troublesome task because of the fact that they are a bit active issue. So, there’s no remote troubleshooting or suggestions, no support for getting printers repaired. The in-person level evaluation and repair service is provided through our local diagnostic facility BCH Technologies Printer Repair Service (https://bchtechnologies.com/printer-repair-service.). Every day, I get dozens of questions about what videos exist for this or that topic. But after nine years of making videos, it's hard to remember all of them. It would thus be most efficient to use YouTube’ search function. And YouTube may also recommend other, relevant videos from other channels that could help you.
