Question:
I'm trying to find the correct size hose-to-hose connector for the Epson L1800's waste ink pump hose. I also need to know the right size hose to use from the connector to the waste ink bottle.
Answer:
When it comes to the Epson L1800 waste ink pump system, the tubing and connectors are indeed specific, and choosing the correct ones is important for avoiding leaks and maintaining smooth operation:
-
Identifying the Tubing Sizes:
Epson printers such as the L1800 typically use two common sizes of tubing:-
C2 Tubes (smaller, black tubes): These are usually attached directly to the pump outlet.
-
C3 Tubes (larger, white/clear tubes): These are slightly larger in diameter and often used to carry ink to the waste tank.
-
-
Choosing the Right Connectors:
-
If you are connecting the small black C2 tube to a larger white C3 tube, you will need a C2-to-C3 adapter.
-
If you are joining two of the same smaller black tubes, you should use a C2-to-C2 connector.
-
The larger white C3 tubes can also be joined using a C3-to-C3 connector if you are extending them.
-
-
Connecting to the Waste Ink Bottle:
From the connector to the waste bottle, it's best to continue with the C3 tubing (the larger size). This helps reduce back pressure on the pump and ensures that the waste ink flows smoothly without clogging or kinking the line.
You can easily find these connectors and tubing by searching for C2 or C3 on bchtechnologies.com (https://bchtechnologies.com). We carry both tubing sizes and the corresponding adapters, so you can order exactly what you need for your setup.
Addressing printer issues can be a complicated affair due to the hands-on nature of the problems. We're not able to provide remote troubleshooting, suggestions, or support for printer repairs. We do, however, offer an in-person evaluation and repair service (https://bchtechnologies.com/printer-repair-service) at our local diagnostic facility. Given the high demand, this service operates on a first-come, first-served basis, and it may take a few weeks before we can accept your printer for drop-off. Our services cover both complete printer repairs and specific part replacements, with clear instructions provided for each process. That said, we recognize that our rates may not be the most economical, so we strongly encourage self-help solutions through online research. A great starting point is our YouTube channel homepage (https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies), where you can use the search function to quickly find videos related to tubing, connectors, and waste ink system setups.
Thank you again for your patience and for trusting BCH Technologies with your printer questions. Your support means a lot, and we look forward to continuing to help you and others in the printer community.
