Epson WorkForce WF-100: Print Head Cleaning Kit Compatibility, Nozzles, and Refillable Ink Cover Options

Question

I'm looking for a print head cleaning kit (with nozzles) that's compatible with the Epson WorkForce WF-100. I saw the print head kit for HP that you carry and it looks like it might work, but I'd rather ask first than waste resources. Also, do you have refillable ink covers that would work with this model?

Answer

1) Do you carry a print head cleaning kit (with nozzles) for the Epson WF-100?

At this time, we don't have a print head cleaning kit (with nozzles) that's compatible with the Epson WorkForce WF-100.

Also, the HP print head cleaning kit you saw will not be a reliable "cross-fit" for the WF-100. Even if a nozzle tip looks similar, these kits typically depend on model-specific factors like:

  • The shape and seal of the adapter/nozzle

  • Whether the printer uses a removable printhead vs. an integrated fixed head

  • The ink delivery path (dampers, lines, ports, and internal filters)

  • The needed pressure and direction of flow (pushing ink through the head incorrectly can cause leaks or internal contamination)

Using the wrong nozzle/adapter can do more harm than good-such as forcing air deeper into the ink path, dislodging debris into the printhead, or creating a leak where ink reaches areas it shouldn't.

2) If there's no kit, what can I do for clogs on a WF-100?

Even without a dedicated nozzle kit, there are a few safe, practical steps you can try-especially if your symptoms are classic clogging (missing lines, faded prints, or colors dropping out). Since you didn't mention specific error codes, I'll focus on the most common clog-related fixes for this type of Epson portable printer:

A. Run built-in cleaning cycles (sparingly)
Use the printer's maintenance menu or Epson utility to run a nozzle check and then a cleaning cycle.

  • Don't run many cleanings back-to-back. Multiple cycles can overheat the printhead or flood the waste system.

  • A good pattern is: Nozzle check → one cleaning → rest 30-60 minutes → nozzle check again.

B. Confirm you're using healthy ink and carts
Portable printers like the WF-100 are sensitive to:

  • Old cartridges (ink thickens over time)

  • Low cartridges (air ingestion becomes more likely)

  • Aftermarket cartridges that don't vent properly
If the ink can't vent, it may starve the head and look like a clog.

C. Let the printer "rest" if it's been sitting
If the printer sat unused for weeks/months, dried ink can partially soften with time. One careful cleaning cycle followed by a rest period sometimes improves flow more than repeated cleaning.

D. Be cautious with manual flushing
Some users attempt manual flush methods, but for the WF-100 (a compact design with tight ink routing), forcing fluid the wrong way can cause internal leaks. If you're considering any hands-on method, the safest approach is to avoid high pressure and avoid flooding the carriage area.

3) Do you sell refillable ink covers for the Epson WF-100?

At this time, we don't carry refillable ink covers for the Epson WF-100.

This model tends to be more niche than many desktop WorkForce units, and refill accessories (covers, caps, refill tooling) are often very model-specific. Even when a cover physically fits, it may not align correctly with venting or cartridge seating-which can create air leaks, false "empty" readings, or inconsistent ink flow.

Addressing printer issues can be a complicated affair due to the hands-on nature of the problems, so we're not able to provide remote troubleshooting, suggestions, or support for printer repairs. We do offer an in-person evaluation and repair service through our local diagnostic facility, Printer Repair Service (https://bchtechnologies.com/printer-repair-service). Because demand is high, we operate on a first-come, first-served basis, and it may take a few weeks before we're able to take your printer in for drop-off. Our services are structured to repair either an entire printer or specific parts, with clear instructions on how to proceed. That said, we understand our rates aren't the most economical, so we strongly recommend self-help through online research as a first step. You can start with YouTube or our channel homepage, BCH Technologies on YouTube (https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies). To find specific topics, use the search icon next to "About" on the right-hand side of the menu bar. I receive dozens of questions every day asking if we have a video for a particular issue, and after creating videos for the past nine years, it's difficult to remember every single one-so YouTube's search function is the fastest way to locate the best match. It can also suggest helpful videos from other channels that may apply to your situation.

Thanks again for reaching out and for your support. If you have any additional details-like what the nozzle check pattern looks like, whether the printer sat unused, and what ink/cartridges you're using-that can help you narrow down whether you're dealing with a clog, an air issue, or a cartridge/venting problem.
