Question:
Hello, thank you for your great videos! I'd like to buy a resetter and several other items from your shop, but I'm not sure which resetter is the right one for my printer models (XP-435 and WF-3620). Could you please advise me?
Answer:
1. Epson WF-3620 - Compatible Resetters
For the WF-3620, you can use this resetter:
Chip Resetter for Epson Cartridges (T2xx Series)
(https://bchtechnologies.com/products/chip-resetter-for-epson-cartridges-t2xx-series-t176-t180-t242-t243-t261-t263-t277-t200-t252-t273-and-t277-as-reset-ep2?_pos=7&_sid=7fb973ccc&_ss=r)
This device resets the chip on your cartridges so the printer recognizes them as full again.
2. Epson XP-435 - Reset Options
For the XP-435, compatibility is less clear. Some models in this series are supported by resetters, but others are not. In many cases, the XP-435 is better supported through chipless software solutions rather than physical resetters.
3. Resetters vs. Chipless Software - What's Best Today?
-
Resetters and ARC chips (auto-reset chips) are considered older technology. They still work for many older Epson printers, but fewer new models are being supported.
-
Chipless software has become the modern standard. With this method, you install firmware that makes the printer stop checking chip levels entirely. You then monitor ink manually, usually with transparent refillable cartridges.
4. Recommended Chipless Resources
If you want to go chipless, we recommend:
-
InkChip.net (https://inkchip.net/soft) - They are usually the first to release support for new Epson models.
-
Chipless Solutions (https://chiplesssolutions.com) - Alternative provider.
-
WIC Support (https://www.wic.support) - For waste ink resets and software tools.
We've used InkChip personally and even shared tutorials to make their process clearer. They sometimes offer discount codes (for example, we used kevin9966 in the past), though validity may change.

6. Monitoring Ink Without Chips
If you go chipless, you'll need a way to track ink usage. Since the printer won't report levels, many users switch to transparent refillable cartridges so you can check visually. OEM empty cartridges are also inexpensive on eBay ($1-$2 each) and can be refilled for this purpose.
Addressing printer chip and reset issues can be a complicated affair due to differences in model compatibility and firmware restrictions. That's why we're not able to provide remote troubleshooting or direct repair for every scenario. However, we do offer an in-person evaluation and repair service (https://bchtechnologies.com/printer-repair-service). This operates on a first-come, first-served basis, and due to demand, it may take several weeks before we can get to your printer. For many customers, the fastest option is self-help, and our YouTube channel (https://youtube.com/@bchtechnologies) is a great starting point. Use the search function next to the "About" tab to find our tutorials on resetters, chipless software, and waste ink resets.
Thank you again for reaching out, and for your support of BCH Technologies. Your feedback and persistence in solving these challenges help us continue building resources for the entire printing community.
