Question:
Thanks for the helpful videos and talking with me when I visited, Kevin. I have one last question: How do you get the ink pump out? That is important if, for example, the pump gets clogged and you want to replace it. What would you need to do to remove and replace it?
Answer:
Regarding your question about removing the ink pump, it cannot be easy, especially if the pump is clogged or you are attempting a complete replacement. I could summarize the process here, but it involves enough steps, so I want to do a complete walkthrough so that you do the job correctly and without risking your safety. That's why I want to make a dedicated video that guides you through the process so you can follow along here confidently and efficiently to accomplish this task.
Parts of the process to access the ink pump involve stripping the printer down to its bare components, and I have already done several videos on that. These videos should help disassemble the printer and provide a reasonable basis to repair even more advanced parts. However, replacing or either removing and/or replacing a clogged ink pump adds a few extra steps, and I'll do another video showing you the other processes in detail. This new video will detail the exact steps of servicing a clogged or defective ink pump, such as safely removing and replacing it.
If you'd like to prepare, you can watch the videos posted on the channel. They should help you have a general overview of the printer, which will help you during the removal of the ink pump. You can always check the video descriptions and comments for more tips and clarifications.
Printer repairs can be tricky, especially involving internal parts such as the ink pump. Since they require physical parts repairs , they do not offer remote troubleshooting or printer repair support. But if you live in our neck of the woods or are happy to travel, we provide an in-person assessment and repair service at our diagnostic center. See the printer repair service page for more details on this service. Due to the volume of inquiries, we also run on a first-come, first-served basis, so it may take a few weeks to facilitate your inquiry.
We provide clear instructions on how to repair your entire printer or parts. That said, we appreciate that our rates may not be the cheapest. Alternatively, we highly recommend you check out self-help through online resources. One great way to start finding your answer would be to check our YouTube channel, which is populated by detailed videos explaining commonly encountered issues with printers. The best option for exploring relevant content you need is the built-in YouTube search function, as YouTube will suggest videos from other channels that might help you.
