Mastering HP 6510 Printer Errors: Overcoming Cartridge Challenges

Question:

Hi Kevin, I saw your recent video, and I set up my HP 6510 printer (HP 364 cartridge in Europe) to refill the cartridges myself, but now it says, "Missing cartridge or damaged." I used your "twin chamber refill" process for a 954 cartridge. Can you please take a moment to screen the printer or how to resolve this error?

Answer:

We have shared a few steps to help you get past the 'Missing cartridge or damaged' error.

Chip Reading Issues:

  • This error usually means the printer does not read the cartridge chip correctly. This is probably due to a dirty chip, excess ink, or a faulty connection.

Chip Cleaning:

  • Pull the cartridge and look at the chip. Wipe the contacts on the cartridge chip and the corresponding chip contacts in the printer with a lint-free cloth slightly moistened with isopropyl alcohol. Yrs.↑ make sure no smudges or leftover ink prevent the connection.

Chip Resetting:

  • Resetting the chips of HP 364 cartridges is difficult. If the printer doesn't recognize your refilled cartridge, you may have to transfer an active chip from an old cartridge that the printer had previously accepted and attach it to the refilled cartridge.

Printer Reset:

  • Completely reset the printer:
  • Put off the printer and detach it from the force.
  • MegaFlicks Then, please wait for around 10 minutes.
  • Reconnect the power cord and turn on the printer.
  • Try reinserting the cartridges and see if the error goes away.

Disable Cartridge Protection:

  • Some HP printers have a process called "cartridge protection." When activated, this prevents the printer from detecting refilled cartridges. You can open your printer's settings or the HP software and turn off this feature to avoid such lockouts.

Replacement Chips or Tools

  • If the above does not work, it may be a chip problem, and you must replace it. Generic resettable chips are also available on the market, but this can change depending on where you are in the world.
