Epson ET-15000 Not Printing? Troubleshoot Common Causes and Fixes

Question:

My Epson ET-15000 is not printing at all — although it is going through all the motions of printing. The ink tanks and cartridges work well, I managed to fix the strip, and put the black clip back on the left. But not one drop of ink comes out. No error message, just silence from the printer. What’s the issue?

Answer:

As for your problem with the Epson ET-15000, if the printer is in fact doing the right things but simply not printing anything, we need to look at a few potential course causes. Make sure your ink tanks or cartridges are topped up and your ink lines adequately primed. When reattaching components like the strip and clip, air bubbles in the lines are a frequent suspect — they can obstruct ink flow, which keeps the ink from reaching the printhead. Run a nozzle check and a cleaning cycle to rule this out. These should allow you to check for any blockages wot the printhead that are preventing ink from flowing.

The capping station is another critical area to inspect. Ensure that it’s sealing properly when the printhead is in the home position. A capping station that is not aligned or that has dried ink on it can cause incomplete ink drawing or can block ink from being drawn into the printhead.

If the tested ink flow and printhead return signs of life but the read remains flatlined, the next investigative step is to check the F1 fuse on the mainboard. If a fuse blows, the printhead cannot get the necessary power, which causes it not to output any ink. If the fuse is still intact and it still doesn’t work, you may need professional help. By that stage, the mainboard may have more serious electrical problems that require a qualified technician to look at or repair. You can try to troubleshoot it more but I would recommend taking it to a tech for diagnosis and repairs to make sure you are not reading the data wrong.

Printer troubleshooting is somewhat of a complicated affair because of the hands-on problem-solving associated with it. Unfortunately, we are unable to facilitate troubleshooting or printer repair assistance remotely. Of course, we do have a local diagnostic facility (Printer Repair Service) where we can evaluate and fix those units in person. Because of the high demand, we are a first come, first serve shop, meaning it may take weeks or longer for your printer to be brought in for repairs. We focus on providing full machine service repair or just parts repair with directions on how to ship.
